I really loved that episode about weight control. Makes me remember how hard boxers train for their fights. Of course it is exaggerated, but it is still very good.

Lol I had my wife translate the Bryan Hawk speech for me she lol’d so hard.

“He says he is happy in the ring because he can kill somebody, but is too excited, so he needs to have japanese girls. He wants all the japanese girls brought to his bed, and wants to spread his sperm all over Japan.”

If it’s subbed anything like that, it’s accurate. =)

In the vid, he says “genes” instead of “sperm” but they have the same meaning. But yeah, Hawk is craaaazy. :lol:

I remember that scene in the manga. It became an issue of Japanese pride for Takumara to win. In the manga Hawk was saying that if Japan wanted a world champion he would spread his seeds to the woman so a champ would arise in 20 years basically.

I didn’t think they would reach that fight so fast, has it just started? To me that was probably the best fight in the manga. Along with Ippo vs Sendo ( 1 and 2) and Mashiba vs Sawaramaru.

Yeah, hard to believe they’re at Takamura vs. Hawk, huh? But that’s one of the great things about HnI–the pacing is fast, and it doesn’t get bogged down with pointless filler.

they are? maybe its time for me to hit up the anime again. I mainly try to watch all of a fight, or all in between 2 fights.
Feels like mini movies that way.

So it would be great if I get a heads up that the fight is over in anime, or when one starts too.
