For real, anybody who has had years of investment in this manga needs to take this chapter for real. I myself have skipped dialogue before to get to action. This chapter is all about growth which kinda makes me give the last one a pass.
Page 5, Coach and Ippo have a real moment, I think in my opinion (which is half confirmed in the next 2 pages) that Ippo is on the cusp on becoming a real nigga. Coach is passing on his last legacy to Ippo and acknowledging the whole nippon pride shit. Courage gets stuff done. Ippo going full Kamogawa. Full science melding with genetic strength.
Trust me thats whats going on. The factManny Pacquiao is now taking hints from Gendo of all shit, means gimmick has run its course and Ippo is just gonna start slaying Takamura style.
I hope ippo turns into a more confident fighter. He should be able to body the whole lot of the ranked fighters now. One wrong move and you get your guts gouged.

Be a good fight but meh I would say realistically it would be gonzales his only competition is martinez but you cant rule out plot armor.
I feel like Miyata would have trouble countering Gonzales. Gonzales’s jab doesn’t have any shoulder movement, which when combined with the long reach of Mexican fighters, makes it hard to predict.
Miyata is a genius, but Gonzalez is raw talent with a savage temperament akin to Takamura. I think Miyata would get a solid counter or two and bait him to lose composure due to studying his match with Ippo, but then get overwhelmed by “Metzli Mode” Gonzalez’s mental resiliency. Alfredo takes his role as Ricardo Martinez’s gatekeeper very seriously.
