We’ll have to see if Sendo can even make it past Alfredo though. I think what could potentially happen is Sendo will fight Alfredo, win, get molly wopped by Ricardo afterwards, and then Ippo takes on Ricardo to defend Sendo’s honor.
Ippo as he is now can’t turn his viciousness on in a neutral state even if he tried, he’ll probably hit an epiphany mid-match when the pressure is on.
After that “awakening” he will finally know what’s up. It would be interesting if we found out his feelings towards being bullied were unresolved, which is why he pulls his punches.
That would make a lot of sense.

Yeah but I don’t think that Ippo would let that get to him, seeing as how he’s best buds with Umezawa. I don’t think Jouji would be willing to go that route either, considering Umezawa is basically the Ippo-universe equivalent of himself. I think part of the reason why Umezawa and Ippo are the way they are could be because Jouji felt guilty about bullying some kid in high school. That or he regrets being such a problem child in middle/high school.
