Even with the random way Takamura pulled off his victory this was one of the most intense matches yet. In the penultimate chapter I was actually second-guessing the power of the shonen comeback. I liked that Takamura called upon the more esoteric of boxing fundamental for the victory, very symbolic of the endless training he’s done. Ippo take notes!
Listening to the Ippo OST while reading made this even more of an enjoyable experience.

I was thinking that takamura would have gone south paw so at least have his good foot be his power foot. That would have at least made some sense opposed to spinning in a single toe.
Yeah I don’t know how to feel about it, Takamura won, but I figured he would have slipped and turned him and made him overextended and counter with a punch over the top… That was the logical finish, but ya know DBZ boxing n stuff.
