The way Takamura’s head is position makes it so bison’s shoulder should be out of vision, or barely in vision to where Takamura just doesn’t notice it.
If Takamura is truly a genius then he will realize that when Bison’s shoulder “disappears” then he’s going for a wide hook and then counter him for a KO.
On the other hand, if Bison figures out Takamura is blind then maybe he’ll do a wide hook feint once he realizes Takamura is adjusting to his tactic and nail him with a devastating counter counter or whatever the terminology is.

@zebster The Flickers are in the hitman style and the way they are swung, he whips the punch first in then out. The hooks are hard to tell because they are fully out of the peripheral view.

Yes, after he wins this fight and gets it surgically repaired. Takamura eye injury is a way to bring more fights into the fold without focusing as much on Ippo/Takamura. All of this is only beneficial for fleshing out the other characters in the Ippo universe.
He’s gonna take time off to let his eyeball heal and train ippo for monster town. He’ll win the fight and move up a class.
Realistically (yeah I know), Takamura’s best chance of not permanently going blind in that eye would be for the coach to notice it and throw in the towel so he can get to a hospital ASAP to get surgery done.
