Well, yeah. It’s obvious Fighting Spirit/HnI isn’t a season-every-year type anime. I just wish it wasn’t like, years, inbetween news on whether the series will continue. Seems to be the norm for sports anime. Prince of Tennis being another prime example (show runs on tv, then OVAs, then nothing, then back on TV for like 13 episodes… then more OVAs).
Sendo showing Ippo how its done. Bloodthirsty doesn’t begin to define him, but still…
…That trainer on the sidelines is none other than the legendary Bill “Obi Wan” Stewart, who is responsible for training Ricardo “El Diablo” Martinez. If Sendo manages to ace this out, it will definitely make Da Mexigod raise his eyebrow.
thw thing is…they spaced ippo so they dont match up with the manga.
prince of tennis…just doesnt give a fuck. it just wants to make it rain in vagina money. they dont give a shit about continuity or being true to the manga. they sit around a board meeting thinking…“how do we make more money this summer?”…“tournament ova time”
Yup. Sendo is going to bait and switch after getting really pissed off. Sendo may fight flat-footed but he has a really quick dashes when he has to. He probably hasn’t fully displayed his speed in a minute which is why Nargo’s camp might get surprised.
Sendo only fights flat footed because he likes punching matches more than anything else.
He’s not going to be happy he got suckered into a hit and run. I honestly expect Sendo to trap him the corner and murder the shit out of him in 2 chapters.
sendos def gonna show he has ring intelligence just so he can be violent. everyone thinks hes simple minded…this is that weird manga trope where they show they could be smarter if they wanted to be.
The whole point of Bill Stewart being there is so that Sendo can make a statement to Ricardo’s camp that Japan is ready to take on the world. Bill may be a genius coach, but Nargo is a piece of putty than can only be molded so far. He definitely has “high tier fodder” material written all over him. Not free, just free-ish.
Sendo winning this fight is like a young gun saying, “We outchea!” to an OG. Bill Stewart is just there to pass the message on.
