First ep gets straight to the point. That’s what I love about this anime. It has a very good pace and leaves a lot of bs out of it. Don’t need to wait 10 eps to see the fight.

and i love how the beginning starts exactly like the first episode with ippo helping his mom. the catch the leaf thing is a nice homage as well. sakaguchis and arnies voice do suit just like the rest. it connects so closely with the old series you get the feeling ippo has never left anime ring. and i like the music, too…

oh how i missed this series so much.

lol only Ippo can get away with that. It feels like an actual fight rather than an anime. Usually you’d say something like “when is the next ep?” or “what point is it up to?” but with Ippo it’s “there’s a fight on” as if it was an actual sport.

I can’t wait for Date-Martinez II, just reading the manga you could tell that had big fight atmosphere.
