I see Morikawa going past 1,000, is Ippo is supposedly two fights away from Martinez. On top of that, there are loose ends such as Mashiba and Itagaki. (Just have Saeki or Karasawa kill Itagaki please, make it easier) Then I’m guessing there will be an extra Gaiden for either Ippo-Miyata or Ippo-Sendo III. One of those will happen.
Yeah, I want RBJ to cave Miyata’s ribs in so bad as well.
sendo is fighting all the mexicans now. one of the reasons for sendo going on his beat down tour was getting better with his jab because all mexicans tend to have this crazy extension shoulder jabs. sendo will probably die as a martyr against martinez and help ippo realize that he has to go against martinez. at the moment ippo is more like a confused little schoolgirl not knowing what to do next. i don’t expect him to fight for the belt in the next 10 years.

anyone who knows japanese does hajime no ippo really mean fighting spirit or is it the first step? ive been looking for a japanese phrase to possibly get tattoo’d i was looking to possibly get sumtin martial arts related but fighting spirit seems like the best choice.
Roughly “ippo” means “one step” and hajime means “begin” so it’s a pun, you can read it either as “Ippo’s Beginning” or “Beginning of One Step” which is basically “First Step”.
That’s just the name given to the North American release. It’s called Knockout in some other area (I forget which one). I like the name Fighting Spirit.
