Also, what are Guy’s options to counter a focus happy character with good range and speed, like Cody? Reaction or prediction options?

I would like to know as well, I also want to add another question. What is the benefits of EX Bushin Flip or regular Bushin Flip, I’m guessing faster start up?

P.S. How do you perform “instant” flip kick, you know the one where you Run > HK, but w/o the run.

RSL means = Run/Slide

Focus happy character > Hozanto EX hozanto really is useful if they are doing it in your face on wake up > Backdash, Reversal Tatsu

EX Bushin flip you can actually use his elbow at any given time or at least closer to the ground, while normal bushin flip doesn’t it. Most cases you will EX bushin after an untech knockdown as its easier to grab them on wake up with that 1 frame standing compared to normal but it is possible with both.

Instant flip kick same as instant slide or stop

You do Lk ~ HK or mk ~ HK

during a blockstring you can just do Hk Hk

Just practice so you dont get EX Run.

Does anyone know the properties of guy’s EX command air throw? I remember the video where guy was grabbing shoryukens / flash kicks etc with it, but I’ve been able to recreate that with just LP izuna. I’ve also been grabbed out of EX throw by guile (my timing was probably too late on that one though). According to the hit box data it doesn’t look like there’s any invincibility frames either so… what’s it do? o_o

Well I’ve grabbed shoryukens with the normal air grab before, but the timing, in my opinion, is ridiculous and pointless. Because if you mess up your in for lots of damage and what not.

And what exactly is a Bushin chain? Is it just lots of EX-hozonto or what?

u get about two frames of invincibility before the grab. check the last post of the hitbox sticky

yeah, its techinically his best anti air. it wont beat out crossups though due to the grab box’s position. you would just be wasting meter. just back/forward dash out of crossups.

it actually can be used as an anti crossup. i tested it after seeing kiryu tsukimiya do it against some dude’s bison. it works… consistently too. i’m not sure if it’s character specific or not. it’s some where in the video thread… the match i mean. in the video though… kiryu does it as he’s being crossed up in the corner, but it does work outside of the corner as well.

dont forget that exbushin is invincible to fireballs.

depends on how deep the cross up is. if it’s within your first 4(?) jumping frames, you’ll get hit (ime)

I was thinking more along the lines of having timing it so the cross up hits you during the invincibility frames and you go flying in the other direction. With 2 frames though, the timing on that is probably ridiculous and more importantly extremely punishable if someone were to react to what you were doing.

simply backdash/forward dashing are more practical in a serious game and you dont risk wasting meter. im sure people will disagree with me but i guess i dont like taking unnecessary risks. if you realllly want to use meter or dont want to backdash, i suggest using EX Run vs crossups. either 1) youll get EX run, absorb the hit and be safe, or 2) youll get an auto corrected EX tatsu. like i said, i prefer just backdashing though

Um Can anyone tell me what is going on…Well I do cr lk cr lp into the st strong st fierce target combo than qcf+mk mk for the run slide…Buut instead of the run slide sometimes i end up getting the bushin flip or an ex bushin flip…I am def not hitting 2 punches or any punches after the target combo…And even weirder is when i do the cr lk cr lp into the st strong st fierce target combo than do qcf with no punch button or anything, the bushin flip comes out lol…I am not sure why the bushin flip comes out so randomly…Anyone know whats going on here??

Probably getting the flip with the release of the punch instead of the press of the kick. Either hold your punch buttons longer, or release them faster.

That’s definitely what’s happening, its called “negative edge”. You can do any special move by releasing a button in the same way you can push it. When you finish your target combo (s.mp, s.hp) sometimes you’re holding down the hp and releasing it after you do the motion for the run. This will result in a hp bushin flip. When you get an ex bushin flip that means you help down both the mp and hp and released them at the same time and got the ex flip.

Basically tap the buttons and stop holding them down. Should solve your problem very quickly.

Ah thanks guys…That what i figured i was doing, with the whole negative edge and all…The other day the run slide was coming out perfectly and today i start screwing it up lol…Oh well tomorrow I fix it up lol…thanks
