I try to keep it simple, mostly because of damage scaling and my inability to do things that are terribly complex(for me).
Most of guys combos do a good amount of damage and a great amount of stun. They arent extremely lengthy where damage scaling becomes a big issue to them either, so learning his lengthy combos can be a good thing especially against Seth and Akuma, because, keeping it simple to preserve meter is a good thing and of course is optional, but in the corner this is where Guy’s combos come to be use, especially with Corner resets, Damage scaling is only really a threat to when you are using your Ultras. But every bit of damage counts. and most Ultra combos will do 450-500 with Guy. So honestly you should watch some combo videos and do the ones that useful practice makes perfect.

a lot of times, simplicity is better. for example with Cammy. TK Cstrike > st.hp xx HK Spiral Arrow does more damage and more stun than her BnB using lk, lp, lk. and its easier to do. same thing applies for most characters.

I have another question regarding Combos.
Is there any or What combos connects into Ultra from Mid Screen. (w/o being in the conner to fully connect)
if you are exactly midscreen, none will combo into U1 except j.hp / j.hk.

you MIGHT be able to FF chain > EX hozanto FADC U1, i havent tested it though.
it doesn’t work. juggle count seems to be exhausted and the ultra whiffs. i’m not sure why ninja sickle, ex hozanto fadc u1 does work though. if anybody has wondered whether or not which launcher is chosen affects the juggle count, i guess that answers it. besides, one of the early hits (2nd?) of u1 sends the guy flying too far to really continue midscreen anyway.
in one of floe’s vids, ff chain fadc u1 did appear to have more corner-carrying ability than the other options. but for raw midscreen, not happening.
What is the chain that Guy can use against Balrog in a corner?
I mean, in practice mode I’ve gotten two EX-Hozonto without the FADC, but I can never get more than 2.

Finally got a stick. Ended up getting the Madcatz SE, funds were very limited, and I wasn’t about to blow $140 on a TE when I don’t even know if a stick is right for me. The stick feels great and very responsive so far, but I know it’s going to take some getting used to. Getting my ass kicked against the computer on Medium a few times was funny :xeye:, but some of my combos are already coming out pretty crisp.
Gonna take some adjustment but I am willing to put in the work :woot:
Just Mod when you want to get all that precision cause the parts really do make a difference in the long run since SE parts do die out after some point.
Cool… it feels fine so far. At this point, being brand new, are any changes really going to make it perform better?
Having Sanwa or Seimetsu parts do make a difference. When I used my friends SE before we got new parts it was alright, Like sometimes i would miss links and after some use his MP button would sometimes not respond unless you strike it pretty hard. With the new parts I rarely ever miss my links and its a lot easier for me to get super/ultra out. So it’s really a good thing to opt to after you get used to the stick and going to new parts after adjusting to the sensitivity everything is a breeze.
Speaking of sticks, any recommendations?? my friend pointed me towards the Mad Catz tournament edition stick (which has a special going for $100)

Sry if this has been asked. But Neutral jumping MK is Guy’ss safe jump right?? Now, this might sound stupid to some people but when exactly is it smart to use this?? I mean, like i guess it considered a safe jump but will i get DP out of it randomly by DP mashers?? Should i use it only on a untechable knockdown or what??
