Yeah thats my go-to bnb too , alltho ill exchange MK Hurricane for Ex Hozanto if i have the meter.
Downsides here is that it doesnt do a lot of damage , and it doesnt start low. Im trying to use cr.lk-cr.lp instead but pfft , i cant adjust as fast anymore , i blame old age :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah ive completely gotten rid of the use of cr.lp in everything i do, except for cr.lp x2, st.mp xx mk tatsu.
cr.lk is better all around. it hits low,and does slightly more damage. the only downside is that it takes a little bit of time to get used to linking the cr.lk xx bushin chain or whatever. its really not hard at all though once you practice it for a few minutes.

The biggest downside to using c.lk instead of c.lp is that it isnā€™t a true block string. Someone mashing dp or spd could hit you between your c.lkā€™s if theyā€™re blocked. If you jump in and do c.lp, c.lp quickly, they will combo and it is a true block string. Now you could say, oh Iā€™ll just bait that shit, but do you really want every jump in to be able to be mashed out of if they block? I dunno, that just seems too random to me, I like to know Iā€™m safe if I jump in against a hawk who is churning that butter and I can still jump in and c.lp, c.lp, jump back with no fear of anything hitting me.

For my bnbā€™s I use c.lp, c.lp, Bushin Chain if theyā€™re standing and c.lp, c.lp, c.lk xx mk tatsu if theyā€™re crouching. Iā€™ve been trying to get into the habit of doing c.mp xx run, slide instead but my timing just isnā€™t quite there yet. It takes some practice but you can hit confirm off of the jump in and 2 c.lp and see if theyā€™re standing or crouching and go into the proper combo finisher.

i only do 1 cr.lk, and confirm off of it

so after a combo ending in RSLā€¦so i do nj. hk or nj. mkā€¦and what is the timing? jump as soon as i can? when should i be hitting kick (visual reference) both mk and hk keep whiffing through their body and im getting thrown and dpā€™ed left and right.

and alsoā€¦how would i set up a training dummy to practice it.

RSL ? and what exactly are you trying to do ? you obviously cant crossup with neutral jump movesā€¦ sorry, maybe im just misunderstanding what youre trying to ask, rephrase ?

Itā€™s nj.mk that alioune is using. Also works with nj.hk but the timing is much more strict and not worth it imo. All you do is hold up after a slide and time it on the way down. Iā€™m sure with this info and the second round of that youtube video you can figure it out. He only does it like 5 times :looney:

ohh okay, never seen run slide abbreviated like that. anyways, hes doing nj.mk, and the timing you kinda have to just do it do feel what its like. you want to try and hit with the nj.mk at the last possible frame to do a safe-jump, meaning throw it out as low to the ground as possible

you can also safejump after runslide with n.j hk done early, such that guy hits the opponent with his knees when heā€™s upside down. safe against 3 frame reversals

Donā€™t freak out too much, this is wrong info. NO 3 frame reversal can be safe jumped because every character has 4 landing frames. Try testing it against Ken. Record your set up with either neutral jump hk or mk after a slide (they both work with mk being easier to time and doing more damage but hk giving you a little more hit stun). If you did it right and you mash out a lp srk with ken youā€™ll hit guy. If you do a mp srk guy will block.

Itā€™s like a tenant of sf4: Characters with 3 frame reversals cannot be TRULY safe jumpedā€¦ever.

After analyzing Guyā€™s hit boxes, It seems that all of his normals require a very strict and specific spacing to connect. Also, there is no hitbox posted for the second hit of his Ninja Sickle, but I find myself landing this a lot more in in-game situations. Because of this, it seems that Ninja Sickle is his best anti-air option because it creates space if whiffed outside of the corner and if it hits, because there is a delay in the hit detection on the other character, you can get meaty follow ups. Has anyone else found out about this?

Also, concerning his Air Throw. According to the hitboxes shown in his data, they vary according to the button that is pushed (LP=Lower Hitbox, MP=Mid-Range Hitbox, HP=Higher Hitbox). Is this important in reference to using it correctly?

And concerning the Bushin Flips, are there any setups that give a free bushin flip or anything character-specific?

Has anyone addressed which crouching characters the standing fierce will whiff on during Guyā€™s s.mp > s.hp TC?

^ I dont think the TC by itself whiffs on anyone when done closeā€¦ it only whiffs during combos and doing it from far ā€¦ and those characters are mentioned in the combo thread

^ check out a guy mirror. It whiffs on crouching guy ALL the time, even from point blank when you just do the TC. Itā€™s so dumb. There could be more but Iā€™m not sure.

Has anyone found any useful option selects? Iā€™ve tried looking a few of these threads but havenā€™t found much (Iā€™m still kind of a noob, so I only just found out about option selects not too long ago, otherwise I would have tried figuring some stuff out myself)
