ahaha thatā€™s just bad luck I guess. Sometimes itā€™s the coolest characters that get the short draw of the stick. I like Cody as well but it seems a lot of people are flocking to him plus heā€™s no ninja lol ibuki is definetly a good character as well but Iā€™ve never mained a female character before and I donā€™t think Iā€™ll start anytime soon lol maybe secondary though

No, itā€™s just Iā€™m so used to maining male characters since sf2. Itā€™s a preference. Besides itā€™s a fighting game, feels kinda weird to main a female character. Maybe that makes me a little sexis :lol: not that I care lol besides I still play them as secondary at times or just for fun, but never mained one and most likely never will in sf games.

@PSKyler and De blu, no the throw glitch is not the ability to grab people on some of their wake ups. Itā€™s the ability to BE GRABBED after you are hit while crouching.

Make sure you punish his rolls every time. If you have 1 bar you can pressure him easily since EX Hoz punishes EX Up Roll on hit.

punish with what? roll on block->punish with run slide?

catch ball with EX hazantoā€¦or punish?

Look in the matchup thread. You can punish all blocked rolls with run-slide. And for EX Hox I meant as a punish to getting hit by an EX Up Roll, hence why I said, ā€œEX Hoz punishes EX Up Roll on hit.ā€

What are you guys punishing Juriā€™s pinwheels with when you dont have meter?..she seems to be out of range of most pokes and crHk is too slow. And another thingā€¦her cr HP beats jumping d+mp clean, its like the only non ex move Ive come across that consistantly stuffs the elbow.

Try st. mpā€¦ Itā€™s got longer range than people give it credit for, and comes out fast enough, not to mention you could target combo -> bushin flip if she actually blocksā€¦ If not, try st. hp, its fast and a one-hit wonder most times (ala Guileā€™s st. hp). Really depends on how close she activated pinwheelā€¦

Play around with it in training mode to figure out the timing, but the easiest punish to do is st.mp xx medium senpukyaku.

It does ~220 damage. Pretty fantastic.

Remember, st.mp cannot punish light pinwheel. So if Juri only spins onces, sheā€™s -4. Anything else is easily punishable by the aforementioned combo.

anyway is Guyā€™s EX Bushin Izuna Otoshi is easier to grab than non EX ? i think it is.

what is the difference between his ex inazuna (that air grab thing) than regular ex? does it grab faster? or does it have any armor? sorry perhaps this has been explained somewhere. planning to main guy and does any one know what is good aa for guy to counter cross up when guy is on the ground?

More priority and it has better range by the looks of it.

It does 170 DMG, only 10 less than non EX

Quick silly question (dont have the game atm) as a defense against Guys qcf + p, p (elbow) cant you focus that easily? It seems like an easy thing to counter attack with but I havenā€™t seen anyone do it. Unless its tricky to time which would be good for Guy!

If we see you try to Focus our elbow, we will just delay the elbow and grab you instead. Hence, why you see almost no one attempt to Focus during the Bushin Flip.As soon as you see the elbow, I donā€™t know if you would have enough time to do the Focus. If you do, you would still have to backdash to avoid getting hit with cr.lp.

Help getting close

Iā€™m having trouble getting close to opponents with guy to enable me to pull his combos off

Do you have any strategies that you use to get close?

I use Run baits to corner opponents who tend to run away. If the are jumping backwards to avoid you just do HP Bushin Flip (QCF+P,P) to catch them and ground them. If they are jumping towards you Instant Izuna (QCF,UF+P) or do his HK Senpukyaku (QCB+K). Once they are grounded use his Run (QCF+K) to get near thenm before they wakeup. That way if they try to run again your right in there face which is a bad idea for them. Also try not to rely awhole lot on his pressure combos. A good player knows that is what your trying to get on him. They will run away the whole time in hopes that you will get frustated and make mistakes. Basically, just try to get a life lead on your opponent. If you do then you will not have to worry about having to get close to your opponent. Heā€™ll come to you or time will run out.
