Sorry if this was asked before, but comboing into U1 its a hard time for me. On trial 24 I got it just once. I supposse you have to buffer after the ex hozanto, FADC, but without buffering probably? the timming its just ridiculous. Instead of ultra 1 Ive got run so many times… Trial 24 cost me 3 or 4 days to archieve.
Can anyone put a video or something with the inputs? Whats the timming? Are a true buffering after the sequence or its just me?. It was so damm hard that Ive been picking U2 instead and firing it in the nose without advice since. And with pretty good results, because most of people just block instead of dashing.
So the thing is, (wall) EX hozanto, FADC, Ultra 1. Where the buffering go?
BTW, I noticed that cr.mk goes under Ryus super up close (2 hits, knock), and from far, (1 hit, stands). You have to press the input, almost at the same time as ryu goes super (at freezing, Guy is already at the middle of his move), but you go under super clean.
It’s really not that hard when you get used to it, it’s definitely different than say ryus fadc ultra1. Pretty much you have no time to keep your hands still, you have to imput every command right after the next like you’re on crack.
I don’t know if anyone’s clarified/ask/done it but last night while fighting Cody I seemed to do the EX kara cancel thing with EX Run -> Ultra 1. We watched the move from Cody’s blockstring hit then ultra activated and landed.
Has anyone figured out what exactly it is that determines when a connected command slide goes under an opponent, swapping sides? I’m looking for a croucher B+B in the corner that doesn’t blast my opponent all the way back to start, but it’s been pretty inconsistent. I can’t figure out if it’s a timing issue (slide entered on first possible frame, for instance), a distance issue (it doesn’t seem to be), or what.
I haven’t done a lot of testing, but from memory, I think that doing s.MP xx Run/Slide will often make you go underneath and swap sides (I haven’t tested on all characters yet), whereas a point blank run/slide or a run/slide after the Target Combo results in you remaining on your original side. However, I think on certain characters, you won’t switch sides if they’re crouching (one example is Rose).
Edit: I think cr.MP xx Run/Slide achieves the same effect.
so,after starting with chun (back in the days) and then pushing my lovely sakura to the maximum,i was rly lookin forword to play guy.
i rly want to main him…but i have a big problem:
i never had problems, with this f*ckin negative edge.(cause, with chun or sak it was not interesting)
but now, after mp->hp (target) into lpHazanto OR mkTatsu this damn hpHazanto comes out -.-
i have to say:i play with a pad…so the tactic “keep the button pushed” wont work for me…
Let go of HP sooner. Practice hitting MP HP faster, it’ll still chain and you’ll release the HP sooner than you are now and get the LP Hoz instead of the neg edge’d HP Hoz.
Quick (legit) question: What’s with the Guy sucks mentality all around SRK? The throw glitch looks small near all complaints I keep reading.
Is there something I’m seriously missing here? He looks decent to me…
In reference to the throw glitch, I think it’s reasonable to be a bit disappointed when you find a character which such a massive oversight that he defies conventional game mechanics. I find the frustration stemming not from this extremely situational glitch, but from the message it sends.
As for the other complainers, they’re just babies.
Can I ask what the “throw” glitch is?
Also, whats the best way to get ultra 2 out while dashing foward? I heard you can punish blocked FA level 1 and 2 with ultra 2 but I cant do it, dummy jumps out D:
And finally, what are good ways to open up for combos besides FA? Its hard to get the bushin combo and target combo after the bushin elbow or any other move…
I think it’s about Guy’s ability to grab someone waking up like Cammy’s hooligan shenanigans, when you land a run slide you can just mash out a ex bushin flip and get a free grab(and 200 DMG bye the looks of it).
I didn’t know about it until today. Assuming the same glitch doesn’t apply to blockstun it shouldn’t be much of a problem unless the other guy gets lucky off a gamble. Still random though.
Hit confirming is what will help you here. c.lp into the Bushin Chain normally works, or you can do it into the target combo. Then finish up the rest of the combo.
For some reason, flip>elbow only hits crouchers some of the time. am i missing something? i seem to be in range for it to hit, but it whiffs and i wind up getting grabbed out of it.
Got damnit, when I heard about this crouching hitstun bug I thought it would be in FAVOR for guy… I am still not giving up, I still think he has more tools than Fei had in vanilla, and I stuck to em.
I don’t know WHY this always happens to me. I choose a character that appeals to me and they end up having relatively more problems than most characters.
