There has been no mention of zombies at all. In what was a zombie game. It reminds me of when The Walking Dead started to fall apart.

It’s damn near impossible for a woman to have such a wide frame, even if she’s on a steady diet of Dbol and test. I thought the leaks said she was a transgender, I could be mistaken.

I’ve seen some zombie footage. They’re clearly taking a back seat, though tbh, I’m halfway at the TLOU1 run I’m watching and they’re little more than a backdrop.

That’s relying entirely on cynicism. Saying “it’s just pandering and i know this because…I know this!” is a very effective way to invalidate/criticize any kind of representation. Now, if the “representation” is used on a negligent background character, or can be easily edited it out for less progressive countries (both of which happened in star wars), or some other clear sign that the creators don’t actually care…that’s pandering.

Not saying this TLU thing can’t possibly be pandering in the end, but as of now I don’t see why one would think that. Maybe I’m missing something?

You can tell when a char is designed for pandering and when it doesnt.
And chances are that 9 out of 10 is always pure pandering. (and that is being generous)
Since their sexuality doesnt offer anything to the char or to the story beyond the creators touting to the press to make them look so progressive.

The token word salad mafia characters is what the token black/other minorities chars used to be back in the day.
Where they are not more than caricatures and are overall inconsequential.

This is the current VP of ND

A hardcore idiot that takes ques from proven con artist, and that supposedly chased away from the company Amy Henning because she didnt agree with his idiotic politics.

Meh.

Realistically speaking you’re probably right.
So are the people saying that bikini armor should never be a thing though.

As far as I’m concerned bikini armor and swole women overpowering men even in the middle of societal collapse are all good and fine by themselves. Judge things by their execution and their writing, not by how much sense they make logically or realistically in a fictional setting.

If TLOU2 is going to be shit having this chick being somewhat too swole won’t be a factor in that.

Oh boy, my favorite arguments to tear into.

“LGBTQ+ characters are pandering when their sexuality doesn’t offer anything to the story.” Okay, when does the straightness of the hundreds of thousands of straight characters in media contribute the story? Why does sexuality/gender identity only require plot justification when it’s non-straight?

“It’s pandering if the sexuality doesn’t offer anything to the character.”
Again, no one requires straight characters’ sexuality to be an entire character arc. Also, a lot times writers avoid making a huge deal out of a character’s sexuality because their goal is to normalize representation in media. If they’re constantly going “LOOK A GAY/TRANS PERSON,” then it’s never gonna become normalized. And people will call that kind of focus on their sexuality or gender identity pandering too lol. A prominent character can be LGBTQ+ without their LGBTQ+ness being prominent in them. So long as the character’s sexuality/gender is clearly established and that character isn’t a throwaway, I don’t think it’s fair to call it pandering.

I procure to do that most of the time.
And i would usually dont care, but when TLOU1 whent incredible lenghts to make it seem the zombie scenario plausible in real life, it becomes jarring since it clashes with the original setting of the 1st game, and adding what we know about the VP and the dumb idiocies that the he says, it makes it more obvious the reasons why the char is being included

LOL, I find hilarious that your argument boils down to normalize the representation of the word salad mafia.

For starters, they are overly represented in media.
If we are generous, they dont represent more than 5% of human population, but if we go by what the media puts, you would be thinking that 1 out of 3 is LBGTQXYZ.

Like i said.
You can tell when those characters are added for pandering reasons.
They usually dont offer anything to the story, plot, etc outside just being there.
And most of the time you have the creators pointing it out like something revolutionary to the media.

If am cynical about all this shit, is because they have made me this way, seeing how they keep doing this kind of stuff every single time.
Making a circus about how progressives they are, just for PR shit.
Or changing stablished stuff because it doesnt have enough representation.

Upon reading this blatantly bigoted bullshit I remembered the ignore button exists. Technology yay <3

LMAO, classic regressive libtard shit, call someone bigoted because they dont have an argument.

To me it’s pandering when:

  1. A characters entire personality revolves around their subculture. They basically have no importance or defining characteristics besides being gay/trans/black etc.

  2. The show puts excessive amounts of attention on the character being xyz. Basically the creators screaming “look at us we are including you”.

Now that is a much more solid baseline. The latter feels pretty subjective so it’s probably more of a case-by-case deal rather than a “pandering checklist,” but I can definitely agree with you.

The LOL of us 2… I think?

Pandering isn’t even the problem with the game. The general idea is good by the way. The problem is the execution.

Could you guys take this nonsense to GD or somewhere else where they don’t play fighting games?
