Nah, I’ve seen at least a Haunter and a Starmie. It was briefly featured in another vid. Dude was murking Red.
Pretty sure it was no items too.
The only challenges I like doing are monotype runs because anything more than that is tedious and imo not fun. I want a harder Pokémon but not anything on the level of these challenge runs like this or Nuzlocke
I’ll usually aim for 5-6 Pokémon so I’m not over-leveled and then that’s about it.

If the games are too easy with the same amount of items and mons at the same level as the bosses, I’m probably going to call them baby shit or hack them to be harder. Probably both.
Usually when a new game comes out I do my first run with only new pokemon.
Actually, the Let’s go games had a much better dificulty curve as removing the random battles made it so almost all your experience came from trainers. The end result is you were less leveled than a standard R/B run, which balanced out better.

Oh yeah I do the “only new Pokémon” thing too. Might allow one from previous gens but nothing I don’t already have.
In fact new Pokémon (and forms) is the main reason I get the new games, but since we’ve broken 1000 that has understandably slowed down.

That makes sense.
It was kinda frustrating going through USUM with repels on at all times because you can’t really kill any wilds without getting overleveled. And that’s with the Exp. Share off.
With it on, which I did to prove that the level curve of that game is not balanced around it, I had to run 12 mons in rotation to keep on par with the totems.
It was horrible. Apparently, Sword and Shield actually got the curve right, but the forced Exp. Share is terrible.
I went through this process too.

Exp share is fine. The problem is that the games aren’t balanced around it.
To be fair though, challenge has never been a thing in pokemon.
I think a hard mode would be the best answer. It could improve enemy AI, and reduce EXP gain.

It’s fucking bad dog. Some angry as fuck former employee has leaked tons of footage of the game. Not only that but the narrative they’re going with is a fucking disaster. This game is The Last Jedi tier and it’s gonna make people fucking pissed.

There was some 4chan text leaks goin around but it’s 4chan and they sounded to fucking outlandish that everyone called BS. Then the video footage came out and it was warp.
And you know what’s even worse? The game got pushed back almost 2 months. ND is telling people not to spoil shit but this is gonna hit them fucking harder. They committed literal career suicide.

Seriously, most of the time all they need to do is not pick the dumbass AI. They even have good AI, but they only use it in the post-game facilities.
