Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought a gimmick was more of a means to utilize a feature for the sake of highlighting it’s existence.
I don’t think making a whole game that uses a key feature of the DS is necessarily a “gimmick cash grab.” Phantom Hourglass felt like a really good use of the hardware.
Compare this to something actually stupid like having Nintendogs use the microphone to “talk” to the dogs or Animal Crossing use the top half of the screen to look at the sky for presents. Seems kind of like an after thought in comparison to the dungeons and level design of Phantom Hourglass.
The game was dramatically dumbed down to accomodate for the touch controls.
Compare PH to the Oracle games and Minish Cap for a reference of what a portable Zelda plays like.
Looks at the goddamn Flute in Spirit Tracks.

I don’t think I shared this here (I try not to bring it up unless I need to), but I’m a vegetarian as well. Shortly after making the change, every meal had some sort of soy/tofu meat replacement for a few years.
I didn’t know this estrogen tidbit back then, but I swore it made me (even more) of a sensitive asshole… I would almost cry at seeing roadkill, I cried more at movies than my wife did, and (this is before I got back into video games, so like, 5 years ago) I remember writing like a 10 paragraph complaint on a YouTube MKX fatality compilation, about how “sick” these games were, and anyone that played them… Despite MK being one of my absolute favourite video game franchises when I was kid/teen.
I was horrible to be around… No wonder I lost all my high school buddies
Edit: Shit, that last line was a joke, but it’s actually god damn true. I was so insufferable back then… I gotta make some calls.

Damn I heard that estrogen shit as a joke on a tv show I didn’t think it was actually true. Thought they were just calling vegetarians feminine lol.
I respect vegetarians because of how it helps the environment, but between loving meat (pause) and this new estrogen fact, I don’t see me ever doing it.
I will say that’s ive had some really good veggie burgers.
