Off topic but i love watching stuff like this for some reason.

I’m still laughing at how people called him Gooptecks.

This is why I don’t allow discord screen shots in GD. Discord snitching. :eyes:

I don’t know what’s up Ves’s ass that he wants to see me Got, but I’ll wait for Zio’s post about all these times I should’ve stepped in to see why he feels that way.

The issue with modding (and where some mods failed) is that there is an immediate power disparity between regular posters and a mod. The moment I became a mod in GD all the anthro senses start tingling because I hadn’t considered that portion of it. Which is why I started posting in the SF5 Lounges: I wanted to be able to post in a place I had no power and just be a regular ass poster.

Eventually I could go back to GD and balance things out. But it took a while because I couldn’t make any changes immediately or things get tenuous; then you have the subforum for the FGC malcontents that are going to test you and you gotta pick your battles. But because every suspension/ban is going to set some sort of precedent, you have to be careful if you want to mod fairly. People are going to remember who got clapped for what and under which circumstances. This is also why I’ve never and I’ll never ban anybody just because I got into a silly ass argument with them over some underwater basket weaving. If I ban you because you just got into a disagreement with me, then it becomes what you said: nobody can talk to me or they get banned and everybody has to be on eggshells.

That said when you’re modding, what you see as bad behavior from a modding perspective doesn’t look the same when you’re a poster. Then it becomes like the precedent thing: So this shitty thing happened here, is this something that I should let slide or is this something that can easily devolve into nonsense. GD has a rule that breaking was basically an one day ban immediately: don’t drag drama from other places through multiple threads/subforums. Out of all the rules I wrote, that one had the #1 potential for causing the most headaches if I let it slide. So it got stomped on hard until people knew not to drag bullshit ass drama around. Sometimes it happens on accident and you manage those. But gossipy shit where you link a post into GD? FOH.

That last one people were basically dumb on. “But what if I do it on discord then?” Great, as long as it isn’t happening in SRK. I don’t moderate your chatroom. I have a limited scope of power which is the stuff that happens in here. If you’re doing something extra wild that affects the forums, we got issues. You wanna vent about how shit sucks and blah blah blah…then w/e. I’ve had some tensions over people wanting to drag discord drama into SRK. Shit man, its a website for talking about games, not for turning it into the court of public opinion. You got issues with what people told you here, you can quote them for eternity. You’re mad because people were talking behind your back and you drag that shit here? I don’t moderate where people talk behind your back and 99% the time the posters don’t care about the drama in some chatroom.

Is what it is.

Edit: Should add that I’ve made some silly mistakes by not communicating properly as a mod. Its easy to forget that i’m a mod, which is intentional. The catch to that is that I need to make an extra effort at stating when we’re dealing with a situation where there’s going to be a modding conclusion which may involve forum tools being used. But I’ve had to flex in GD a few times already so it won’t happen again. Sometimes mods make mistakes but it can’t be that you’re too proud as a mod that you aren’t willing to fix them either.

When I say PM me your issues, or when Zio said he thought I should’ve modded something. I wanna know what it is so I can review it. He may have had a valid point and then I have to make some adjustments. No biggie.

Modding bad. Free speech and hate propaganda good.
Young 'uns these days need to learn how to parry irl.

Thank you for coming to my 4chan Talk.

  • You shall not cosplay.
  • You shall not praise SFV netcode.
  • You shall not DP after getting air-reset.
  • You shall not defend Smasher idiocy.
  • You shall not use fireballs in neutral.

Just some examples, I think.

Wait what?

What planet you live in where you think I’m against fireballs?

Man, why are you analyzing my shitpost?

Also, not denying the other things :eyes:

Because defending smashers, wack ass SF5 netcode or cosplay.

You’ve spent too much time playing games where projectiles aint shit if you think a guy that loves ST hates projectiles.

That is a valid way to spell 3rd Strike after all…

If anything human history says that countries do the opposite. They want to keep death toll of the scary virus as low as possible early on many COVID 19 deaths got listed as Penmonia and heart attacks.

Look at history of the Spanish Flu.

Politicians are using the virus for their interests here. They don’t like the president because, even though he is stupid, cut off a chunk of benefits that were clearly abuse of public money. He wants everything to go back to normal, so the entire political system are using the virus to get him out of there, and could as well be bloating the number of deaths for that purpose.
Bolsonaro has his mind in the right place, but is just too stupid, but that stupidity could be compensated by having good politicians there, which is not the case. Said politicians stop anything good Bolsonaro and his team wants to do just because they dislike him. They don’t give a fuck for the population and are against the president out of self interest.
But in the next election, the people instead of realizing we were in the right direction, will deduce “I miss Lula”, and vote for that criminal party again.
EDIT: Volt will be mad I’m defending the president. Don’t worry, he won’t get my vote again.

I was sleeping.
To answer the question partially, there are people that are often times offensive to other people for no reason, and they don’t seem to be even getting a warning. I am not gonna name names unless you specifically ask for it (I have 2 people in mind) because again, that’d be kind of a dick move.
I have flagged unprovoked offensive posts when I have seen them, so if mods power allow for it you can check what I am talking about.

Not really. Just because I think Bolsonaro has the IQ of a plank doesn’t mean I’m going to hate on people for defending him. I’d rather try and understand why they’re doing so.

When people just start pulling up conspiracy theories, fake news and general dumb shit, then I call them out.

Yeah, but that’s why I didn’t say that you didn’t give an example. Literally no one gave any examples.

Honestly, it’s kind of not surprising. We’re pretty chill as a community, especially in this thread.

I see… Well I suppose @Pertho might have to answer that one.

That’s kind of a rare occurence though, which is pretty good.

Not telling you to name names because it’s kind of tangential and potential unnecessary drama, but I don’t get why that’d be a dick move.

If I get a problem with anyone, I’m calling them out. I’ll make sure they’re either reading or I’ll @ them so they can read it.

I find it worse to talk shit behind someone’s back. That’s just something I don’t cosign.

Maybe it’s a cultural thing, maybe I’m weird, I dunno. I don’t see naming names as a bad thing. :man_shrugging:

more power

Did you forget I’m not a mod?

I’m still lost on why this is labeled as a SFV thread when it feels more like GD.

its fine cause we are all destined for glory

soon I will be the least of us and the rest of you will be famous commentators, tournament players, and maybe even presidents.

Only tournament I’m participating in is the one to see who can fall the highest height before getting injured, and you better be damn sure that I’m commentating that bitch too.

I once fell 35 feet off a haystack while doing hay work
I have my keys on a ring on my wallet, and my keys went right into my leg, on top of the whole side of my body turning black for a few days.

where was ur fucken commentary on that one!!!
