while I am totally with you on the Epic store thing, the online thing with consoles on the other hand is not a hill you are dying on, it’s a massive pile of shit.
I can afford whatever the fuck I want monthly, but that is still no grounds to pay for a service I actually don’t get, because I pay for internet to my provider and guess what, if I stop doing that but pay for PSplus or XBox live or whatever they are called somehow I don’t get to use online, so you’ve got to explain to me exactly what am I paying for, and don’t tell me it’s the free games, because I don’t give a rat’s ass about games I did not pick for myself. And all this to have games not even run at 60 fps in 20fucking20.
So if you’re ok with pulling down your pants and bending over for Microsoft or Sony you do it yin your own room and please don’t bother the other kids that are just trying to play nice with each other.
Oh and btw there are to whom those 4 peanuts a month mean a lot, and they maybe save their hard earned cash to get a console because a PC is too expensive and requires maintenance that would just love to play their games online, but fuck them for being poor, I guess.

I did it because my business was failing because being a computer repairman in a small town when you don’t gouge people and actually fix their issues, and let them know how to prevent further ones wasn’t a sustainable business model. Youtube was one of the like 8 things I threw my hat into once I realized in about a year or twos time I would no longer be able to sustain myself on my computer repair biz.
Basically PC gaming tried to kill me.

yeah only cause my brilliance let them work once I got my hands on it.
Put a pc in the hands of anything less than a 10th level intellect like me and they are likely to explode and harm everyone in the room.
that and im not a scumbag like every other pc repair person I have ever met, who lets further issues happen and doesn’t educate the customer on preventative steps for further issues, because that’s the best way to get repeat business.

In all seriousness though, after the initial investment, you save so much money on PC and get so many extra functions (like shitposting in this very thread.) that it’s really hard for me to go back to say, a PS4.
The only console I really want is a Switch and that’s because it’s unique enough to warrant the investment.
I only see myself buying a console if SF 6 is console exclusive and it has Juri.
If it does not, back to mmos and fps games.
