The GranGlue Fighter Lounge: Corona Virus bodied Shadaloo Free AF

Online tournaments with rollback are the future.

Depends on the character, some characters (eg 21 and blue Vegeta), the c assist is much better than their other two.

Some teams also benefit more from C assists than others. For example any team that needs ranged conversions benefits allot more from C.

quite sure they are both considered point or bust.

Kinda?

Blue Vegeta was only ever point because his a assist was pants. He needs tons of meter to function which isn’t great for a point character.

21 can really go anywhere. Her C assist is super good so that makes a big difference in where you can put her on a team.

From the same guy who made an online tourney for SamSho, there’s now gonna be one for GBVS.

Same thing as before. Have to be in Canada, Mexico, or the USA to compete and they are using the PS4 version. It is at 88 entrants so far.

That’s discrimination! I thought the wall didn’t pan out but they were only building it further south!!!

I really need to quit Raiding in FFXIV, GBVS this week and this 2 weeks later?!

Better late than never.

No, I’m not playing it.

I’m watching a quiet place and it has me on the edge of my seat…

But why would anyone have a child in this situation…

I saw a few people talking up Super Saiyan Vegeta’s C assist.

Its fully invul right? Can even beat some supers apparently.

It’s like… A month after PS4? By UNI standards that’s amazing. Meanwhile SamSho…

Tell me about it.
I do like playing MK11 (casually) with my brother and friends when we have gatherings, but watching tournament play? Hell nah, that shit bores me very quckly, specially when you have chars like Jackie and geras onscreen

It baffles me that NRS always finds a way to complicate shit in an unnecesary manner.
The whole variation system and customization is a mess on MK11.
1st they tie your variations to a custom character.
Then they give you limited slots for customization.
And lastly you can only customize chars on the customization screen, ensuring that you cant make stuff on the fly on the selection screen.

And to make things more stupidly inconvinient, they dont put most the tournament variations as defaults for the chars.

Since launch, my brotther and friends have never used the regular versus mode and just use the Tournament mode because those fuckers also found a way to make it sure to fuck up if you decided to make al the tournament variations to use localy by making it them only available to the user loged on the player1 for example, but not the 2nd one.

Really hope the tournament organisers don’t lose any money because of the cancellations. I don’t think that’s possible right?

@PlusFrames You started playing video games only recently? Because you said you wished you started playing video games when mk9 came out. How is it possible to avoid video games all these while? Lol.

You see, this right here is the problem.

It’s not. It was never ok.

Think about it. A game that just released on a console and that had its immediate prequel on Steam logically should have been released on Steam in tandem with the console release.

If it wasn’t, something’s up. We actually have a couple theories to pick out of.

  • The game was hastily and sloppily ported, that’s why it had a delay.

  • It was in the interests of the game devs/executives/publishers/whatever to prioritize one platform over another.

In either case, fuck 'em. This is not ok. Treating a whole platform like a redheaded stepchild is dumb.

It’s offensive to any fan who has 2 braincells and doesn’t double dip just to be a shill. AKA the abused PC housewives. You’ll know them when you see them.

They usually say something on the lines of “If we buy the steam version, we’ll show support and the company surely will look out for us too!”

Now I have to clarify that yeah, maybe you should give them the benefit of the doubt first. But I ain’t talking about these cases. I’m talking about the repeat offenders. I’m talking about the people who are getting bent for 3, 4 games in a row.

This shit is not ok. Uni-Clr by all means should have had a simultaneous release. There’s no excuse.

And I say this as someone completely unbiased. I don’t give two shits about Unist in general, Mika is the worst design I’ve ever seen in an anime FG and the Jin clone can just fuck off.

Let it go man… You deserve better.

I don’t think so… They’re probably getting bodied unless the gov’t refunds something, but that’s extremely unlikely.

Oh no, i’ve been an avid gamer most of my life. I was fortunate enough to get an NES for my 5th birthday and have owned like 9 consoles since.

12 years ago, I took a break to learn bass guitar. I figured it was a better way to spend my time, and truth be told, I was kinda sick of games. There was nothing new that was exciting to me. MVC2 was overplayed. I wasn’t a fan of 3D fighters. The FPSs other than Halo 1 and CS weren’t my cup of tea. I beat Zelda games on GC, but didn’t want a wii or a wiiU. So yeah, I took a break and focussed on music. I completely ignored games during this time, and never even knew there was an SF4, MK9, MVC3, etc.

3 years ago, I injured my neck and was bedridden for a few weeks. During that time I got into Marvel Contest of Champions on my iPad, and then got a PS4. Got SFV during s2 and came here to learn how to beat Survival Mode and well, here we are.

Bruh you missed out on a fuckton of good games released between 2009 and today

I bought the Batman Arkham re-release on PS4, as well as the dark Souls remastered. Honestly, there isn’t much else that I feel I really missed out on except SF4, MVC3, and MK9.

Tournament cancellations mean at least refunds from all the people that got “early bird” registrations leading up to the event weekend. Possibly also losing out on the money that was paid to rent the venue, but I guess it depends on how far ahead TOs make such agreements

That’s funny.

I used to play fighting games as a kid and a teenager but got more into training from around 2000.

About 4 years ago i got diagnosed with pretty severe shoulder arthritis and slipped a disk not long after. For a while it looked like i was gonna have to quit competing, training and maybe even teaching.

I was trying to think of what i did before to fullfill that desire to compete, lab (drill) and study. Then i watched the 25 years anniversary documentary about Street Fighter and realised that was it.

Luckily the shoulder issue is pretty much managed and now i spend most of my free time in either Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or fighting games..
