Gohan has well over decade of clashes and zenkai’s from dealing with the Androids. Plot convenience is the only rational explanation for Gohan, who’s known for random rage boost power ups, to not be able to beat the Androids. Trunks literally went from an infant to a teenager in that time. He was in a Planet Namek from the Freiza Saga environment his entire life and got minimal games. That makes no rational sense. Things happen in Dragon Ball because the story demands it. Not because of any established in universe rules.

Makes plenty of sense. If rage and zenkai boosts were all that’s needed future Gohan, trunks and vegeta would’ve gotten SS2. But only goku and present Gohan did.
It’s been said multiple times that anger can get that initial bump into SS, but it isn’t the best way to maintain it or improve.
I think Zenkai boosts stopped being a thing once they became Super Saiyans. For the remainder of Z, we only saw Cell receive one.
Overall dragonball makes sense and follows a consistent theme and guideline. But seeing as it’s over 30 years plus of material with other people getting there hand into here and there it does have retcons.
gohan should be the most powerful character in the series, but he doesn’t have the passion for the fight. You’ve seen this with fighting game players, some people just have that latent talent, play casually and every now and then take a game serious for awhile and beast.
Then they stop, fall off everyone can beat them ,but after a month of slight training is better than everyone who’s been training for the 5 years they stop playing.
Goku loves to fight and get stronger, vegeta doesn’t want to be eclipsed by goku so he trains to keep up, super has shown a different side of vegeta. He’s actually on his grown man stuff and has a family that he cares about which is proving to kind of help him edge out being stronger or at least as strong as goku.
Outside of things like Porta earrings and Instant transmission retcons or inconsistent dragon ball over all is pretty consistent.

I thought Vegeta went SS2 in Buu saga? Or was that just Majin boost?
Nah, it’s just implied now. It’s still very much a thing, but not the only thing like it used to be.
By the time Buu Arc was up, Vegeta legit had SS2 and so had Goku.
Implied he got SS2 some time after Cell arc.
It is a fact, though. He did, in fact, obtain SSJ2 after the Cell arc before Buu.

Got second place. Destroyed the guy I met in losers finals and got beat pretty bad in grand finals.
I did as well as I could have done though. Happy about my performance.

For such a legendary transformation i think that SSJ has way too many forms.
At most i would had made two of them , with the second transformation looking how SSJ 4 was.A clear visual difference compared to the first while at the same time showing the savage nature of the Saiyan race.
Now we have, SSJ 1 , SSJ 1 with buffed body, SSJ 1 with electricity, SSJ 1 borrowing Radit’z hair , SSJ 1 blue special delight, and SSJ 1 with white hair.
Meh.
SSJ4 was garbage. Furies with eyeliner? Nah no thanks lol.
Also ultra instinct isn’t a Saiyan transformation.

Super Saiyan Rose was fucking baller. Blue god forms were awesome too. I’ll take the pallet swaps and the GT retcon. 
When Dende healed Gohan after he was left a bloody mess, Boo teased him and said his power didn’t change one bit. They took the Zenkai’s to the limit on Namek, which is why Goku went from like 90k to around 3 million after healing. So if they still existed, they weren’t noticeable anymore.
Beerus and Whis were unaware the Saiyans had the ability to heal from near death and Whis was constantly pushing them to their limits. The Oracle Fish was convinced the training alone would’ve killed Goku and Vegeta because of how harsh it was.
