With all the movement regarding defunding police agencies, I hope that there is a discussion not only about the police’s role (which should be relegated to law enforcement) but what services a city will provide to offset those responsibilities.
Dallas’ Former Police Chief made this point in the past.
If you we are going to defund the agency, make sure the money is going where it’s needed.
If “defund the police” has a greater component to it than just taking away money, why not find language that says what it is rather than going for clickbait hashtag terms?
SPD gassing the fuck out of the protesters last night, then have a plant drive a car into the card and shoot some one. Of course dude is ‘apprehended’ and not blasted into pieces.
Fuck Seattle Police so much. I’m sure they are going to keep arresting protester over the course of the month because…reasons…
You should. People think defunding is operating a city with no police force. It’s happened in Camden, NJ already and had positive results. Minneapolis is following suit, and Seattle, ESPECIALLY after yesterday, needed to do it eons ago.
One bit of news that has barely made a dent is these pigs retiring, resigning but there’s no check on where they go. I’m pretty sure “vigilante” groups are going to start popping up from those that were fired, resigned etc. Expect to see them in these neighborhoods they were terrorizing with badges, and continuing it without badges.
EDIT: Gonna keep bumping this since it keeps being added to. Video are disappearing online as well. Makes sense since the police work with the tech companies.
Apparently the story on this one is a black store owner got robbed and called the cops. They showed up and assumed he was the robber. Then they apparently lied and said he reached for a weapon
The thing about those responses where it says “He was ahead of his time”, it’s nothing new. This has been going on since forever, it’s just now recorded. Had to mention this to co-workers today.
Keeping with streams and Twitter, then looking at new network coverage, also hammers home how blatant everything is in regards to coverage.
