I wonder if any of these toxic radical Twitter accounts encouraging violence against police are Russian trolls… Seems to me like accounts such as those would give police and government ammo for cracking down on the demonstrations. Regardless of who’s behind it, they’re only going to make an already bad situation even worse.

It was moved by Council Member Kozachik, duly seconded, and PASSED by a roll call vote of 7 to 0, that Consent Agenda Item i be passed and adopted and the proper action taken and return to the Mayor and Council for review within a year.

The gist of the argument brought to the Council is this: a number of people have been harassing TPD officers and trespassing onto crime scenes or into accident scenes to videotape or take pictures, and the police would like the authority and training to keep people back or out of city property during a declared emergency. It’s a class 2 misdemeanor - up to $750 fine and 4 months in jail.
