The Goddess gets picked first. (Amaterasu team compilation and team strategy)

I was thinking bout running storm/amateratsu/someone, at the moment dante but any suggestions are welcome. My original plan was to have storm with w/e assist, ammy with cold star and jam session dante, storm and ammy can use jam session to help there keep away game will dante and storm can use cold star to improve there rush down. But then I thought why not try something a lil different, so my new plan is to play storm in a form similar to her marvel 2 version, i.e flying and hovering around the place building meter with bloom and a few hits her and there and then spamming that ice storm. The only issue with the second build is I can’t really play an efficient rush down with storm anymore since she kinda needs an assist to be decent with her rushdown, so maybe ill use jam session as a lock down assist.

So my question to y’all is what do you think of this team build? And which do you prefer between the first and the second build and who would you suggest for my 3rd character?

Here’s some input from an old school CvS2 player:

I really like an Ammy/Storm or Storm/Ammy duo as well. The big pro’s for Ammy/Storm are to fry any open assist with shuffle to hail storm or any combo’d shuffle to hail storm for big damage.

The big pro’s for Storm/Ammy are really the ability to utilize the new damage and hit stun scaling on the front page…[media=youtube]rWvdm0n38Ws[/media] around 20 seconds, just replace Deadpool’s cinematic super with Storm’s elemental rage. With storm, if you land seemingly ANYTHING with two meters, you’re going to do some serious damage/kill a character. Any air combo, even any THROW to her elemental rage super, DHC to vale of mist while the tornados are hitting, and do L thunder edges back and forth that aren’t scaled. IF you had three meters with storm, you could do the vale of mist DHC, kill a character, THEN activate a vail of mist for their incoming character to deal with to hopefully land a hit and rack up even more damage.

The big con’s for both duos? Low HP. Storm is 850,000 and Ammy is 800,000. So I would think your third character NEEDS to have some decent HP and pack a punch. Sentinel or Taskmaster really jump out. Given how fragile the team is, you could also have an invincible assist like Haggar or Tron to cover yourself while getting rushed down. Haggar and Tron both have the same HP (1,200,000), but I would give the nod to Tron for comeback ability and not being totally screwed as a solo character (since DAT PIPE can’t do much on its own if their last character has ANY zoning capability).

I would like other player’s take on this team as well since I’m trying to figure out a third to the Ammy/Storm duo as well.

I’ve been running Ammy/Viper/Dorm, and it’s an amazing team, I think.

I haven’t settled on using Viper or Ammy on point first, they both work really well. The team’s assists work together really nicely. Ammy can use Viper’s burn kick during long blockstrings for unblockables, and with Dorm’s Black Hole she can basically apply infinite pressure. Viper GREATLY benefits from Cold Star, as well.

I tend to use Ammy and Viper as batteries (If you know Viper’s Box Dash Loop, she can build a lot of meter) and then burn it all with Dorm.

I have yet to play anyone with this team and felt like the team itself was holding me back, any losses were always due to my own mistakes. This team feels really solid to me.

its like the c.M c.H /\ j.H j.H j.H / s.H /\ j.H j.H j.H / s.H S combo, except I just leave out the first s.H and jump again instead so I do six consecutive j.Hs. although last night I decided doing glaive stance 236L loops is easier and does more damage

Ammy/Deadpool/Doom.

Doom allows me to get in whenever I please. All 3 can function as keepaway or rushdown (effectiveness of rushdown is in descending order).

Deadpool also has the benefit of giving me damage/hitstun reset combos.

I’m working on the same team and I think it is very solid. However, I am using TK instead of BK. Oh, I have Viper on point. I think she works better in that spot. Ammy can fill so many different roles in the group and Cold Star is a pheonominal assist which is nice to have at the start of a match, I would say.

My team has a fuck ton of synergy they work perfectly together try it out people.

@popoblo: Thanks for the input, ill definitely take that into consideration, still leaning on dante, but the health totals do kinda worry me. The team will die in the blink of an eye, but hopefully with time ill learn to make up for that.

I’m actually considering a team of Ammy/Skrull/Sent. Itll have Ammy out front to build meter for Skrull to use. You mentioned the synergy the team has, any tips or advice? Thanks man

I’ve been using Spencer and Taskmaster as my other characters. Spencer has the DHC glitch going on, and his Armor Piercer is an excellent combo extender allowing me to push for the corner much more effectively when Ammy is on point.Taskmaster’s horizontal arrows stuffs minor projectiles well.

ammy (cold star)/taskmaster (h. arrows)/akuma (hurricane kick)

I tend to play rush down with Ammy and resort to keepaway against certain characters, but for the most part I’ve found that Taskmaster’s arrows work out with keeping my distance away from folks if I’m trying to stay safe, and Akuma’s assist is good for getting people away from me. Also, Taskmaster works well with Ammy if I switch her out and utilize both of their projectiles. I win most of the matches I play at small locals, so I think I’m fine for the most part. I’m considering swapping Akuma out or changing his assist to the dive kick. Any thoughts?

I wasn’t sure the best place to put this but I had to say I’m extremely upset with my self that I took Amaterasu off my team. After losing a good 30 battles I said “Hell with this” and went back to Amaterasu. I was just trying to fit other characters that didn’t fit with my team. So now my team is now

Chris(y)/Amaterasu(b)/Iron Man(a)

Amaterasu is just what I was missing. Too many times I’m losing to characters like Wolverine, Dante, Deadpool. Characters that are just fast and Chris has a hard time dealing with characters like this. Amaterasu is just so graceful. She can DHC into anything and has great mobility. With Amaterasu I am no longer getting spammed by other characters and I’m building meter like crazy. Which is so helpful now because with Amaterasu’s great ability to DHC into anything, it’s really easy to get a combo going with her. I definitely need some work with Amaterasu. The reason I stopped using her because I felt I was being cheap using fw.h too often but it works!! Once I can incorporate her weapon changes and other stuff I feel better about using her. I’m just glad I realized after getting my ass beat, I should stick to what I’m comfortable with.

Yeah I also love having ammy versus characters like wolverine. To me it seems like ammy pressure requires more patience than finesse to get out of, and a lot of people lack it online lol

Hsien Ko (Senpu Bu)/Amaterasu (Cold Star)/Albert Wesker (Ghost Butterfly)

Cold Star solid enough ranging people out right off the bat to get Hyper Armor for Hsien Ko’s ridiculously good assist, which in turn helps me rush down people. Ammy is just all well rounded for anything I need so I can use her when ever but usually I have Wesker out first because of his versatility and ability to be a battery if I need it (however, Wesker and Ammy can switch the rolls of battery and hard hitters for me, sometimes both act as a battery). As of right now I have the Ghost Butterfly because of its hard hitting and the ability (good when you’re pressuring with Ammy) to wall bounce for more combos, but to be honest I’ve gone between all three assists and think all are great for this team. Then, if I need to fight with Hsien Ko (since she usually stays back with her assist), again, versatility and great range are usually all I need to pick off what is left.

I can see why many people choose X-23, though. They do have great synergy with each other all around.

lol at all these teams. basically you can stick ammy on ANY team and do very well. shes that good, shes that versatile. need a good lockdown assist on your team? coldstar got your back. need more meter? bloom will have you spamming supers for days.

god i LOVE this character. shes on every team i play at the second position. TOO GOOD.

Yeah I just started playing Tron and dude one meter combo an easy 700k. She helps zero out well to with cold star so i can tele and apply good pressure.

Anyone tried to see if any of the two DLC characters work well with Ammy?

ooooohhh cool strat with ammy or morrigan together with any character that has an easy relaunch… or just any long grounded combo:

with wolvie do his bnb, land, S+meter assist for the relaunch into end of bnb. easy way to call out meter assists especially one that takes forever like ammys. also since 2 different assists are available in combo this should always be available even when wolverine combos off another assist llike ironmans unibeam. (yes this does work with unibeam as a starter).
