Did anyone else feel Athena was kinda…random? Throughout the whole game? I mean, ok, she’s there…but how did she get there? What are her purposes or motives for helping Kratos kill Zeus? And don’t get me started on her power in the box or w/e…
I dunno, she didn’t really fit to me. Only thing I remember was her transcending death or whatever and that’s who she is now.
I’m starting to think that you people are retarded it’s not hard to spoiler up stuff. I almost read the goddamn ending AGAIN in this thread. Fuck I even read the first word.
Story and Gameplay, overall the weakest of the 3 games. Good, but I would rank it the weakest as the story had some disconnect, even though it was wrapped pretty well
That was too funny

Were they trying to say she was the mastermind since there aren’t too many to oppose her. It felt rushed, like they couldn’t place here anywhere, so threw her in the finale. I also wish they would have showed some of the world beginning to change, due to him giving man . . . . HOPE
Does this game is as solid as a platformer as it was in GOW1 or more along the lines of GOW2 where the platforms elements were nerfed heavily?
And I’m not hating as I own both GOW games and they are awesome but I don’t own a PS3 and GOW3 may be my only reason for buying it but I want to know if is more along the lines of GOW1.
ah, another god-item found…I get a certain satisfaction of accomplishing certain things without the use of a FAQ…

Right after you beat Hercules, and WHOAH what a quality beat down that was!!!.. similar to Hades, it’s underwater. I’ve already forgotten if it was directly under where his body is floating or more towards the screen…but just swim down to the bottom and collect the new prize. If there was something after the Cronos fight, I probably missed it… I remember dropping down before looking around…instantly frustrated because I couldn’t go back, and I didn’t feel like re-loading from the previous save point which would’ve started the entire Cronos fight over again.
I also wish there was at least an option to display a boss’ health bar, but I guess they left those out specifically to make things that much more cinematic, so it looks less like a game and more like this incredibly awesome action movie that you happen to be playing and interacting with.
Ohhhhh and how awesome are those gauntlets!? Next to the regular Exile blades…these have become my favorite toys to play with. I’ve also fully upgraded the Hooks as of last night.

I love summoning abilities in games… so that’s the main reason I love that weapon. One minor nitpick though… I wish the summons would last a little bit longer. They basically show up and do 1 action, then immediately disappear. I’m not even sure which summoned soul I prefer just yet.
marks out for Kevin Sorbo as Hercules stops marking out when it looks nothing like Sorbocules
C’mon! Where’s the yellow vest and the boyscout attitude? Not to mention the god hating.
How has this worked out for the rest of ya? I tried entering it in the “redeem code” section on PSN store, but that doesn’t work. Apparently you have to enter the code on the godofwar.com/skin site, then they email you a confirmation? I entered it about an hour or so ago, and I haven’t received anything yet. It says “Voucher Redeemed Successfully”, and there’s nothing new showing up in the damn inbox. I’m already betting the shit is just NOT going to work, because that’s how things work out for me in life, basically. Whatever, man. Hopefully it’s just taking awhile, but I won’t get my hopes up. They really could’ve made this a simpler process…why not have it where you could just enter the codes directly into the damn game? This is needless hassle over a simple alternate character skin. Another annoyance for me is that my friend Dumbass is going to need help, since he’s severely computer illiterate. That dude has probably forgotten the very name of his email address(and the password) again.
“Fear” Kratos skin looks cool, but it’s too bad you take 400% damage…I don’t even really want to try playing with that…hmm…unless these are allowed in the Challenges…? (*there’s a challenge where you have to kill everything in a time limit with no weapons…3 or 4 of your enemies are big guys with hammers and one large cyclops with a club…yeah, that’s a little ridiculous there. I guess the only possible way is to use the “battering ram” move with the smaller guys? I managed to kill at least 1 of the big enemies that way…but still, that challenge already seems hard as hell.)
Anyway, I have to give the final score of this game a 10. It’s just…there are no words to accurately convey how epic the battles are. It’s one of those things where a person just has to experience it firsthand to truly grasp how amazing it is.
*Pandora is cute in an odd way. Assuming she were real…she’d get the Bone?.
heh, how are other action games going to compete now? It’s like if you’re a singer/performer that has to go on after Michael Jackson back in the '80s…you have no hope of topping that.
^Regarding the redeemable costume i heard that its not ready yet or some shit is happening behind the scenes thats preventing us from getting it. I got the same problem too and so is alot of people. Guess we just have to wait :\
oh yeah, I saw a thread on gamefaqs with others in the same situation…some entered their codes a few days ago. I have a feeling this will be a disaster. At least the game itself was awesome.
GoW3 is the best of the series followed by GoW2 imo. The combat is great, its more fleshed out and the new weapons are sick. They’re not actually useless unlike the weapons in the previous series. Also those badass boss encounters, Poseidon and Hades especially just beats the rest of them.
It’s not that I didn’t like the game. I enjoyed the ride, but the ending was pretty anti-climactic compared to the other 2 games. Play 1 and 2, the endings of those games gave me a WOW, especially the 2nd one. I would say 2 is the best overall, because it has an Empire Strikes Back tone with it.
Agreed, I think that the development team did an awesome job overall. Definitely gonna put the words Epic and Scale to good use when talking about this franchise.
[details=Spoiler]My guess is someone took Kratos’ corpse, maybe it’s his brother who was hinted at in the first game?
At any rate, this just means that a new Kratos game could be made =3[/details]
BTW I feel that the weapons were pretty simplified what with there only being few extra attacks for them, what’re your thoughts?
