The Gen Community

you are now the official Gen prodigy on this forum lol!

I’m Benjamin from Germany, 27 years old.
I remember playing SF Alpha/Zero on the SNES of a friend when I was a child. That’s when I discovered Gen for the first time and loved his moves even though I did not get at all how they were performed. I even remember drawing a copy of Gen from a gaming magazine. I still have that…
But I never really played the game until SF4 came out and it was popular with my friends. I rarely won against them and bought the game to practice. Took a long time till I switched to Gen, some time around when Super was published. I think the cross up game and the super to ultra was, what finally convinced me. …oh, and the taunts at the end of gekiro, haha.

Sup Homies,
My name is Matthew, you guys can call me matty ladies call me bob ^_-, I am 16 and i live in Adelaide, SA, Australia, I love to play SF on my PS3 and on my PC, mostly pc because i got a laggy ass tv hooked up to my ps3 which makes combo’s impossible…, I originally played a Classy ass man named Dudley but now i have moved on to play Gen because i don’t like mainstream shoto’s because i’m hipster like that (lol), I’ll be getting a better screen for my ps3 soon and i’ll hopefully be able to mingle with some of yall on ps3

Ha, I also used to main Dudley and made the switch to Gen.

I am Ugonna Chukwubuike, 25 years old in Nigeria. First played Gen a little in Alpha 3, a little in vanilla sf4 and then fully from super. Played my first street fighter on an 8 bit port that had dhalsim (pixelated) as the final boss. then alpha 3, then championship edition port on sega mega drive 2, then ex plus alpha, then alpha 1 and 2 then ex2 plus, then very little ex3 then third strike, then 2nd impact then sf3, I got into SF4 eight months after its release because I never heard of it lol (I didnt use the internet for gaming) I am what you call an investigator in gaming, always looking for stuff, I remember figuring MK3 three secret codes by myself lol! with a pen and paper and alot of trial and error lol!

Sup, I’m Ken, 19 years old in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

I just recently tried Gen and surprisingly liked him A LOT… so he’s potentially becoming my new main. I was never too fond of old people and wing chun, so I was never interested in him. But his playstyle just seems to click with mine, making me wonder if I’ve been forcefully practicing with a character that didn’t fit me (Balrog, Ifreaking love boxing…)

I love the concept of two stances giving him different walk/dash speed and jump arcs. Ibwas intimidated at first but he’s got about the right mechanics to be manageable (unlike Tekken characters…)

Anyway, I’m most likely going to be part of the gang, so nice to meetcha!

Whats up im Marshian.

My real name is Tevin im 19 and im from chicago. Ive been playing gen since about alpha 3. I’ve always loved everything about him from his backstory to his moveset. I played him a little bit in vanilla, none in super because he is terrible in that version, and I’ve been maining him ever since AE. I look forward to meeting all of you and if you ever wanna run some sets hit me up on xbl: Obey Marshian.

I am thinking about getting AE on the PC, I have been thinking that I can play better footsies on a lag free setup. (I believe PC is lag free with the right monitor right?)

Evening GENtlemen. The names Charles, but you can call me Charlie or Zeph. I’m from Los Angeles, California. I’ve been playing Street Fighter since I was a child in the late 90’s and I haven’t been able to stop playing fighting games ever since. I main Gen because I like the amount of depth that the character brings to the game. In my opinion he is one of the deepest characters in SFIV. I also believe that Gen is the best character in the game, period! I play AE on Xbox and on PC. I’ve been playing it more often on PC because the game just feels better for me on there, it runs a lot smoother and gives it more of an arcade feel. If anyone feels like running sets anytime please feel free to send me a request! I’m always down to level up my game or help others better their gameplay.
