Anyway, $2.80+ here. I like how this guy comes into my work yesterday and says that he hates the price of gas blah blah… and he drives off in an Escalade…
2.93 for the cheapest of the cheap in the Vancouver/PDX area.
I’m not feeling the pinch quite yet, I’ve got a Jetta VR6 for my daily driver right now and while it does have a good sized V6 it’s not too bad. However when it gets around 3.15 or 3.20 I will not be doing any excess driving.
When friends and I go out somewhere I’m the one to start the “Not It’s!” for who’s gonna drive:rofl:
Please… it doesn’t matter where you live or what kind of car you drive, NO ONE should have to pay this much for gas. Fucking ridiculous that my parents lived to be in their late 50s before gas went over $1.15 or so and I’ve only been driving for a few years and it’s already gone up over $2 past that.
What are some good ways to boycott? Besides standing outside with a poster and getting people to honk :bluu:
I’ve been driving for about 4 years and I’ve seen gas prices rise up over $2 from when I first started. Fucking $12 used to fill up my tank.

We had and old thread for this but god help me if I can find it. Gas it tipping on $3.00 a gallon here and already over $3.00 a gallon in other places. This is getting ri god damn fucking diculous yet there is no outrage like there was last year. Why the fuck is that? Every time I go to fill up the tank I say to myself time to bend over an take it again and Ive been saying this ever since gas got over $1.60. I cant be the only one.
On top of my other problems no I have to change one more thing. I dont go out anymore at all in fact I pretty much drive to work then home and thats it. I used to enjoy going down the to beach on the weekends then I started going only once a month. Now I havent been down there in a year. Anything else that does not require me to drive across town I take the bike and peddle that shit down. I bought the saddlebag baskets and I load up my groceries in that and ride back home. And I am about to get me a bus pass to go across town but even that might not be worth it.
So what are other SRKers doing to cope? What is the price in your area? Is it time to demand government intervention?
I got gas for 2.60 when I was in Ocean City. went to my parents house outside of DC - price was about 2.90 for the cheap shit.
Overall the price is beyond ludacris - its based primarily on ‘fear’ - its more fear than ‘demand’. Iran might do this, Nigeria terrorist might do that. Some places are contemplating on top of the current prices - adding sales tax to it yes I know its already taxed, but that 3-7% state sells tax on top now That will add upwards of 21 cents per gallon. As is filling up is like buying a playstation game. All I can do is invest money into Exxon.

LOL. You can move to Italy and pay 5 dollars a gallon. Yeah…gas sucks but I can imagine the same topic was done 2 and 3 years ago.
The old guy who randomly started a conversation with me at the gas station the other day said it’s probably going to hit $4/gal this summer. Can’t say I’m looking forward to it.

87 octane is at 2.99 where I get my gas as of today :mad:
