Literally none of the other games have done a 2.5k jump from one year to another. They all have steady growth. SF5âs numbers were both unprecedented. Given how the other evo games have grown and died, they were a random aberration and unlikely to be maintained.
Smash, OTOH, had constantly large numbers with the two games it brought for the various Evo years. Stay wrong all you want, but making it about SF5 wonât change the fact that its first yearâs numbers were never going to hold.
Completely off-topic, but whoever made a shrine in BotW that needs the Gamepadâs motion controls when the game can be played on a Pro Controller deserves to play online on 2-bars against Rashid for all eternity.

But SF5 not being great isnât the reason why Smash is punking the hell out of the FGC at Evo, which was my original point.

Itâs numbers didnât have to hold, that ainât what this is about. Itâs about the fact that itâs attendance fell of a cliff and continues to get worse while every other fighter shows growth. It couldâve dropped to 2k and grew every year after. But no, the game has been ass and itâs numbers show that.
Imagine if the S3.5 and 4 patches were replaced with S5. Imagine if S2 wasnât a donkey fest and S1 cast didnât get neutered. SFV is a bunch of squandered potential and itâs sad as fuck that SF/MvCI dudes are always the ones bitching bout DBFZ, smash or some random air dasher. Get mad at yâall shitty game.

I am playing the Wii U version.
Who cares about EVO we all know whatâs about to happen. Smash got the most eyes on it and will get the votes. If fortnite or overwatch offered a big enough bag theyâd have the fgc playing in the bathroom on laptops like a meltyblood session.

Evo fucking sucks anyway. The main events most fighters get throughout year put the event to shame.
Only Capcom fanboys and smashers place so high of an importance on Evo. Says a lot, these players act alike in many ways.
Atleast smash just in it to play, they sure as fuck ainât getting paid.

After EX stomps, if you do EX command grab immediately after you can snatch them with it. If you wait until the recovery animations are done, he is too far for it to reach.
These silly recoveries doing all sorts of things to positioning in the game, its mad weird.

I honestly havenât really been all that hype for EVO over the past few yrs. Iâll always tune in, but that excitement going into it justâŚisnât there for me anymore. Thatâs why I donât really care about the main event. I look forward to the potential announcements more so than anything else. I donât get down with Smash, but I respect the Smash scene for always supporting their game.
To be honest, I donât really watch tournaments all that much in general nowadays.
