Like imagine the timeline where SFV wasn’t cheeks and it’s numbers kept growing every year… ya know, like every other fighter from Tekken, SC6, Unist, SamSho etc. Every other fighter has saw hella gains except SFV.

lol no. Smash combined had more than most games when they were on their old shit. SF5 first year is the only thing bigger than smash at full power and it was only by 80ish:
- Street Fighter V: 5065.
- Super Smash Bros . for Wii U: 2637.
- Super Smash Bros . Melee: 2350.
We already knew 5K was inflated for SF5, but Melee/WiiU nonsense was just sort of par the course. The moment they allowed two smash games at Evo, they set it up so that it would eventually turn into a Smash event and oh yeah fighting games on the side for the lols.
SF5 games are always way too different from each other to have really brought everybody under one roof like Smash did so RIP Evo.

Nigga Melee is out and you proving my point by how SFV kept getting worse from that type of numbers peak. Just think if SFV could’ve grown past that initial 5k or not stagnated to pulling 2k. But nope it’s ass and has been ass. Smash ultimate wouldn’t beat SFV numbers if the game was good.

Nobody likes every game at Evo, ever. And frankly having it close the show is a favor to the people who don’t want to watch it, instead of having it in the middle of games they care about.
If the Smash community didn’t have a shitty history with outside tournament organizers, harping on about it negatively wouldn’t have become such a thing.
