Power and Grace trailer is pretty good too.
Started as 6 books from way back when (I started reading before book 4 hit).
Book 4 got split into two because it was too long. He still wants to finish in two more books, but realistically he’ll wind up splitting up books again.
That fat fucker can’t cut anything from his books either. Dude needs an editor. 4 and 5 could have been one book of 200 pages.
LOL that really made me LOL
lol, so what order did he read the books in?
thats bullshit.
Well the first book -season is an eye opener of how the real world works!
sometimes you have to make friends with people you don’t like to get your ass on the throne.
its all politics
Theres also the side of how people (high ranking nobles) will use their power and to settle squabbles with other and rather than come to a conclusion, they’ll play with the lives of men and those men are nothing more than toy solders. At least toy solders are usually looked after and loved by children.
^ this example hit pretty close to the faction of gangs n stuff. I don’t have a lot of time to write more infor but thing about it.
Like the dire wolf, the queen has no reason but to believe her son (although the red head fucked up) and the life of a boy wasn’t enough, she need her son to over-compensated.
There is no supreme being in these stories to make these mortals look outside of greed/revenge/pride.
It started as a Trilogy. The first book became books 1,2 and 3. The second book is 4 and 5. The last book is supposed to be 6 and 7. After Martin released the the first three books, he only wanted to release three more, but then he wrote too much for book 4 and had to split it in two.
There are also 3 prequel novellas (set 89 years before the first book). They are: The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight. Martin said that he plans to write up to nine of these novellas.
New tv spot… the story so far: http://www.hbo.com/video/video.html?view=grid&vid=1245432&autoplay=true
HBO has ordered Seasons 3 and 4, to be based on book 3. Shooting from June 2012-Feb 2013.
Wait 2 seasons on the same book?
Book 1 - 720 pages
Book 2 - 784 pages
Book 3 - 1216 pages
Lots of shit happens in book 3, and all of it is awesome. Also, do like I told you and make a new thread.
SoS, I believe, is the longest book yet. I kinda understand why they would split it into two seasons.
NINE NOVELLAS? WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE.
martin needs to stop being a lazy fat fuck and finish his books. nobody gives a fuck about his fucking novellas, or the board game, or the RPG, or the trading card game, or the HBO series, if he has a fucking heart attack and dies after one too many cheese burgers. its all meaningless without a finished story.
i have zero expectations for the rest of the story given how disappointing dance with dragons was, but i would at least like closure and see how it all plays out.
Ahhhhhh, only 8 more hours @_@
HBO’s running the entire first season on HBO2 right up til tonight’s premiere
Just watched the first episode of season 2. They are nicely building up the hype for the upcoming episodes! Looking good so far.
I always forget just how amazing peter dinklage is in this series until I watch him.
Really good episode, some really cool scenes and lines of dialogue that I’m pretty sure weren’t in the book, some really awesome shit to say the very least.
Cersei is a shitty mother and Queen, no control over anything just flexing muscle to get what she wants. Joffery on the other hand has to be the most insecure character on this show. His actions are almost always fueled by insecurity and he seems very immature compared to all the other kids on this show.
Tyrion had the best lines and was the best part of the premiere for me. The way he made Cersei look and feel early on was pretty funny and even he was shocked at her inability to be even a decent queen. Can’t wait to see how she flip the scales back in her favor against him.
Robb is quickly becoming my fave character behind Tyrion his moments here were varied and shows how much he has had to develop. Not enough Arya made me sad but the promise of her little trip getting more meaning at the end of the episode is such a awesome tease.
Great kickoff episode.
*It’s Tyrion Reasons4U
This season premier was all over the place, they wasted no time in getting things established and setting the tone for how frenzied this season is gonna be. Davos I feel was perfectly casted, the man playing him looks just as I imagined him from the books, while Stannis…will take some getting used to, but he has the serious scowl done pat, lol.
Peter Dinklage is winning another Emmy his year man, he steals the scene everytime he’s on-screen, he IS Tyrion, he owns that role. They also added alot of lines that weren’t in the book, but this show is so well-written that everything just “fits” ya know? Also that scene with Joffery threatening Cersei after she slapped him, never happened in the book…and it was wonderful, they’ve truly turned Joffery into a monster.
Cant wait for the rest of this season.
Yeah my bad I was tired when I wrote that. I don’t like the Stannis actor either tbh, he comes off as childish in his blind believe that he will win instead of a man who has confindence he’ll win.
I’ve some of the best scenes last year (or at least most of my favorite) were the one that weren’t in the books and from this episode it seems like that will happen again this year.
I like how easy it is to tell the made up scenes. Don’t even have to guess.
