Meh. The first trailer is a lot more epic and hype. But still thanks for the link.
Does putting the word Official in all caps make that much more official?
Do the dragons grow and extra 2 front legs?
Pretty common knowledge that dragons have 4 legs and Wyverns have 2 back legs and wings.
well, read the wiki and they just share the same
I was all ready to jump down your throat for being wrong on the internet because Cersei is the only woman Jaime has ever been with, but then I realized that’s not her husband
Oh yea, technically that’s a book 4 spoiler but so is Cersei being sexually active with anyone besides Robert and Jaime… and Lancel and Kettleblack and Moonboy for all I know.
What is it with people and spoilers? I swear some people are like 5 year olds when it comes to secrets. Like for those brief moments they get to be important or something. It’s like people are trying to bait me to talk about the books and spoil but no your yomi mind tricks will not work.
Cersei is seen with that little servant boy on the show and it’s already implied they they had sex so no Cersei being sexually active with someone besides Robert and James is not a spoiler for anyone who can put two and two together. He was naked and she was all like “just get back to bed”.
If people just HAVE to talk about the books so and can’t wait just make a dedicated GoT book thread and complain that so and so book isn’t done yet to your heart content.
Everyone dies in this series, and its not done yet…
book 3 spoilers
Spoiler
I’m only in book 3 but Jaime just banged some chick on his way back to Kings Landing. She was sent to his bed by the people taking him back. She told him how she was there when he was made into a kingsguard as a kid, and she thought about him her whole life and never dreamt she’d get to be with him outside of fantasy.
So both of them have no qualms with being with anybody else.
Not that I see that it matters much
No, jaime didn’t sleep with her if i recall. she flirted with him but he turned her down
book 3
Spoiler
Yup, you’re right. Looked at it again. I read it differently the first time, that he had sent her away after they boned, not before. Pretty strong willpower
Correct me if I’m wrong about the books…
Huge spoilers…
[details=Spoiler]nothing really happens in the books. Arya winds up in some silent monestary, dragons don’t get grown till fifth book and even then there’s no massive dragon battle, littlefinger takes sansa to the vale, tyrion wanders aimlessly, Jon stark gets stabbed, cripple stark wanders aimlessly…? That about right? [\spoiler]
If that’s right then the whole thing is extremely disappointing and anti climactic. The first three books were great but feast for crows and dance with dragons were extremely boring.
books 2+
[details=Spoiler] Lots of shit happens in books 2 and 3. Books 4 and 5 are set up books for 6 and 7 (since the first part of the story (domestic westeros) reached its conclusion at the end of swords), and were originally supposed to be one book. He warned, from Feast being released, that Dragons would be basically the second half with the rest of everyone.
Books 6 and 7 are likely to be spread out too but should have more action as the story works toward a real resolution.[/details]
Spoiler
Arya is a training to be a fucking assassin not some lame as priest or something. I don’t find her chapters boring at all. I really think if affc and dwd were one book instead of two people wouldn’t bitch some much. I honestly enjoyed both of them
I thought Dance with Dragons was awesome…
I actually really liked Feast and Dance even if they were a bit slow paced compared to the first three. I do hope that the next book will actually start to form some objectives and context for the characters because I do have to admit, as much as I enjoyed the books it didn’t feel like much had actually happened.
you did? then…
you know nothing, KimuraLOX
c what i did there?
I SAW WHAT YOU DID THAR!
Man, after reading Feast for Crows, DWD was a godsend! Other then Arya’s chapters, that shit was just ugh…
I have been excited and compelled to read the Game of Throne series more and more with each turn of the page. This has been more than satisfying for me because I love a good book to read, and have been so interested in a story or enjoyed sitting down with a book since I can remember. This dates back to the Dune series almost ten years ago, or a few Tom Clancy books in about that same amount of time.
That being said, the other day I finally finished Game of Thrones. It was a slow and rough trip, but well worth it. I had unfortunately seen the HBO series first, so it is only a credit to the story when it can keep me interested for 600 pages when I know what will happen ahead of time.
So, in all my glory I was ready to pick up the second book. “Oh joy!!!” I squealed inside as the grabbed the thick red book next in line in the bookcase, and looked forward to the following 600 pages knowing that it was a story untold. This following time I would enjoy the story like it should be. Six hundred pages of unknown was before me, and i felt comfortably situated knowing that there were 1000 more pages and two books even after this. Oh glory be!!
I opened the red book, a Feast for Crows it was titled, and noticed it seemed to leave off right where the first one did. With the Greyjoy’s on their crappy island.New characters were introduced and new lands were explored. I noticed however, that none of the previous books characters had been mentioned. Slowly but surely they popped up however. People dead? The future? Where is Lord Stannis…I was so interested in reading about him kicking ass…hey wait a minute…
I rushed to my computer and googled the book sequence…FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuUUUU!!!
WHAT ARE THE ODDS THE LAST BOOK STARTS WITH THE SAME PEOPLE THE FIRST BOOK ENDS WITH AND THAT MY BOOKS WERE PACKAGED IN THE WRONG ORDER??? (wtf wants to shoot self)
So, have I just dammed myself by ruining possibly the greatest read of my life by finishing the first 3 chapters of the last book before I even started the second. I mean, shit…I basically know what Lord Stannis wont accomplish, and that a certain blonde family that obviously survives. This seemed the whole premise of the second book…
Am I ruined?
Season 2 should get a clean thread. Anyone saying unspoilered shit, or fucking up with their spoilers should be infracted.
Lets do this, mods.
Spoiler
[LIST]
[]Arya is training to become a Faceless Man.
[]The dragons get some action and wreck people’s shit.
[]Jon Stark is likely dead. Things went to hell once news of Stannis’ death reached the Wall.
[]You forgot about Dany. One of Drogo’s former crew found her, and now she’s likely in trouble, unless Drogon comes back.
[]There’s also Hizdahr, and whether he’s the Harpy responsible for the killings. Not sure if this matters anymore if Dany’s not around. At least Barristan got to ruin someone’s day. Oh, and the dragons got released.
[]Not sure where Martin’s going with Bran’s story. Not really interested, to be honest. I’m pretty sure that the mystery ranger is Ben Stark though…that I’m interested in, because I want to know how he didn’t become a mindless killer.
[*]Tyrion is awesome. Doesn’t matter where he is in the story or what he’s doing, just as long as he doesn’t die. I wouldn’t say he’s wandering aimlessly, though. He’s with the company supporting Prince Aegon’s cause, if I remember right.

when the fifth book came out there wasn’t news of a sixth and seventh book though right? i didn’t know 2 more books would be coming out until yesterday.
