They got through the first book.
Never read the books but now I’ve seen this I’m really tempted. This is absolutely one of my favorite shows.
my only complaint about the season was that i wish there were a few more semi-forced sex scenes between drago and daeneryns.
…
[details=Spoiler]also is it clear in the book whether or not the witch poisoned drago’s wound or not? if not, that’s a pretty strong hubris biting you in the ass moment.
either way, i look forward to those dragons growing up and fucking shit up[/details]
I haven’t watched the series but here’s what happens in the book…
.
[details=Spoiler]Khal Drogo curbstomps this enemy tribe and gets wounded in the process. Dany finds one of the witches, FROM THE TRIBE, to create a poultice for the wound. Drogo is pwned. Later, Dany asks to bring him back from the dead. Witch is like, OK. After zombie Drogo awakens, witch is basically like LULZ YOU GOT TROLLED!
cause seriously Dany… wtf were you thinking, asking an enemy witch to help the person who just murdered your whole tribe? so stupid.[/details]
BTW the guy who played Drago in GoT is the new Connan the Barbarian.
Sean Bean references that Episode 9 freakout video, hahaha.
They killed my nigga Ned. Fuck the blond man.
Ha, my nigga ned.
I want more Syrio. God I hope he didn’t die. Dunno why all the critics were like “This show is confusing” The only thing really confusing is their fantasy fun time names, but by the last episode you kinda have them all down.
I guess because it had a multiple storylines and did it well? The wire must have been the most confusing show ever made when it was starting out if that’s the case.
The dwarf and the Arya are my favorite characters. I like dragonblonde too. “I’m not going to scream” Ha, that witch LIED.
GoT has the best child actors on TV.
The made-up scenes are silly. Anyone curious about the viewers can check this out. There’ll probably be a huge jump in viewership by the start of the next season. Here’s hoping for a premiere that breaks 4m.
Yeah, it’s so awesome that he actually saw the video.
S1 Finale
Spoiler
Dany’s gonna whoop some ass with baby dragon assist next season. The black and red one was already like “fuck you, I’m a dragon” with his wings outstretched just minutes after being hatched.
Gendry
Spoiler
Gendry wasn’t a huge role, but he was definitely important for Arya in the books. He’s definitely not a “barely mentioned” character.
Spoiler
Actually Drogo had ripped off the poultice because it was itchy and just had it dressed normally. So I don’t think the witch was planning anything until Daenarys had requested the blood magic be done.
That’s something that I didn’t like. In the book, Drago is gentle with Daenerys when they have sex (as gentle as a brute can be), but the show makes it look like he is straight raping her.
it’s all G since the only “no” were coming from him lol
Spoiler
he ripped the poultice off because it felt wrong. it was too late by then. i’ll have to re-read the book, but i’m pretty sure it was poisoned. the actual wound he suffered in battle was minor, it would not have killed him. its not explicitly stated, its implied, since the witch later rages about how her tribe was destroyed.
the witch
Spoiler
i thought it was made pretty obvious that she planned it from the very moment she had the chance (fixing up drogo)… i mean, sure we didnt know when it first happened, but she did later confess to everything, no?
yeah that’s how i read it as well
in that article is an interesting link speculating on Jon’s true parents. It contains some minor spoilers on the later books (it mentions scenes with various characters, so you know who George doesn’t brutally slaughter … yet… lawls):
http://www.angelfire.com/ma4/mlarchives/faq/jon.html
I definitely didn’t do a deep reading on the book like that, but damn the theory that Jon may not be Ned’s son makes a lot of sense. Seems so obvious now in retrospect.
of course, that’s one of the oldest theories, in fact its almost universally accepted now that
L+R=Jon Snow
yeah L+R makes so much sense
that will be such an epic reveal if Jon survives long enough to meet his aunt. assuming the series is ever fucking finished.

[details=Spoiler]
He dreamt an old dream, of three knights in white cloaks, and a tower long fallen, and Lyanna in her bed of blood.
In the dream his friends rode with him, as they had in life. Proud Martyn Cassel, Jory’s father; faithful Theo Wull; Ethan Glover, who had been Brandon’s squire; Ser Mark Ryswell, soft of speech and gentle of heart; the crannogman, Howland Reed; Lord Dustin on his great red stallion. Ned had known their faces as well as he knew his own once, but the years leech at a man’s memories, even those he has vowed never to forget. In the dream they were only shadows, grey wraiths on horses made of mist.
They were seven, facing three. In the dream as it had been in life. Yet these were no ordinary three. They waited before the round tower, the red mountains of Dorne at their backs, their white cloaks blowing in the wind. And these were no shadows; their faces burned clear, even now. Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, had a sad smile on his lips. The hilt of the greatsword Dawn poked up over his right shoulder. Ser Oswell Whent was on one knee, sharpening his blade with a whetstone. Across his white-enameled helm, the black bat of his House spread its wings. Between them stood fierce old Ser Gerold Hightower, the White Bull, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.
“I looked for you on the Trident,” Ned said to them.
“We were not there,” Ser Gerold answered.
“Woe to the Usurper if we had been,” said Ser Oswell.
“When King’s Landing fell, Ser Jaime slew your king with a golden sword, and I wondered where you were.”
“Far away,” Ser Gerold said, “or Aerys would yet sit the Iron Throne, and our false brother would burn in seven hells.”
“I came down on Storm’s End to lift the siege,” Ned told them, “and the Lords Tyrell and Redwyne dipped their banners, and all their knights bent the knee to pledge us fealty. I was certain you would be among them.”
“Our knees do not bend easily,” said Ser Arthur Dayne.
“Ser Willem Darry is fled to Dragonstone, with your queen and Prince Viserys. I thought you might have sailed with him.”
“Ser Willem is a good man and true,” said Ser Oswell.
“But not of the Kingsguard,” Ser Gerold pointed out. “The Kingsguard does not flee.”
“Then or now,” said Ser Arthur. He donned his helm.
“We swore a vow,” explained old Ser Gerold.
Ned’s wraiths moved up beside him, with shadow swords in hand. They were seven against three.
“And now it begins,” said Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning. He unsheathed Dawn and held it with both hands. The blade was pale as milkglass, alive with light.
“No,” Ned said with sadness in his voice. “Now it ends.” As they came together in a rush of steel and shadow, he could hear Lyanna screaming. “Eddard!” she called. A storm of rose petals blew across a blood-streaked sky, as blue as the eyes of death.
“Lord Eddard,” Lyanna called again.
“I promise,” he whispered. “Lya, I promise . . . ”
That was Ned’s dream after his leg was injured, but that wasn’t used.[/details]
