This is why i love SRK, there is always an idiot that talks about games that they don’t play neither understand.
Inform yourself before speaking and exposing yourself like an ignorant fool, thanks.
Im home from work. Shall we do this Mr Jenkins? And does anyone have a psn stream we could hijack lol.
Well, well, well… Now you know how we feel when some of you start talking out of your asses about SFxT and saying silly stuff like “frame traps and throws aren’t viable because of slow walkspeed” or “you can only get 25% damage max from offense”. What else do we hear from you guys again? Oh yeah: “jab pressure is overpowered and impossible to get out of”, “jumps in are free because anti-airs are ass”, “pay2win gems” etc. etc.
Yes, I agree very much with you guys: people should not try to discuss some game they don’t even play and they should definitely inform themselves before saying something stupid. I really wish you guys would follow your own advice more often. There’s a reason why you don’t see me talking shit and pretending like I know something in the Skullgirls board. Just saying.
You played that perfectly, even with the smiley face.
I think the arguments against SFxT fall into these categories:
- Disc-Locked content / Paid DLC - these people want the game to fail the hardest because they think it represents a further commercialization of the genre; other
people don’t care for varying reasons. I’m in the latter category - It’s not Street Fighter 4 - weak throws, oki game, frame data, anti - air stuff, these people should just play SF4; we don’t need two of the same game
- Time outs - these annoy me, at least give a marker so we know who is winning at any moment and let us finish our active super move
- Stuff that’s been fixed - jab pressure, glitches, etc
- Too many mechanics - pandora, autocombos, etc; Atlas games are more complex. I feel like this is a bad argument.
- They want to complain
by the way, an important thing is to accept that your game has problems. every fighting game has problems, things people will commonly dislike or perceive as unfair, some of which just sort of happen due to quirks in the game system, some of which developers just dont seem to give a shit about fixing, and some inevitably because different people like different things. acting like your game has no problems is not the answer; the answer is to attribute some flaws to subjectivity and make accurate comparisons regarding tastes, to prove that some perceived problems are just misunderstandings, and to admit that some problems exist but are tolerated just like quirks in other fighters. Defending your game which you love because you perceive great depth, excitement and fairness in it is good, but being a noisy apologist just makes you seem like you’re in denial and other perceptions people have regarding that sort of thing. there’s a fine line between being someone with a great deal of information and understanding who shares it when someone else is wrong and being someone who constantly tries to advertise their game and play PR.
you say dumb shit and respond to being called out with “well, well, well”? are you taking the shit i listed about common dislikes regarding sfxt as my own criticism or something? i don’t need to take your advice; i dont like acting like i know shit about whether or not sfxt has good neutral or pressure or not aside from when i talk about why i personally dont play the game.
i like how you just bundle me in with a group of “you guys” who talk shit and i havent said shit. guess what: the people who dont play sfxt are a heterogeneous group! some shit talk the game, some keep their opinions to themselves, some dont care because they’d rather just play sc5 or bb or something!
Spoiler alert: You are making your scene look stupid. Some people think there’s serious problems in your game which havent even begun to be patched. Not everyone is just going to like your game! Capcom games can have major flaws and be disliked by most players! Welcome to the reality of fighting games: not everyone can be a convert to your particular game. Your game has already had its free ride: more people tried SFxT seriously than SC5, Tekken 6, BB, GG, etc etc etc, many didnt like it fundamental ways and will never look back. You’re going to have to deal with that like most FG communities do.
Vulcan you may not realize it but you’re part of the problem.
This is #6 I listed.
@Mightfo: lol sorry, I assumed you were another one of these… trolls/haters since I’ve never seen you around here. You see, whenever there’s a thread like this for some reason a lot of random douches that don’t even play the game show up and start making non-sense, shitting on the game and saying stupid things without backing them with anything at all. We’re kinda used to it by now.
LOLOL, like if there is something new that the ignorant masses that populate srk talk shit about the non capcom fighting games , if anything is you people who at last know what it feels to have to deal with the stupidity that plagues the so called “community”.
And yes, while there are some idiots who come to this section to trash talk about SFxT without knowing about the game, don’t confuse that everyone is like them, and that everyone is ignorant troll, there are valid complaints about the game.
Another thing, just because you like a game you can’t be blind of the troubles that the game has, yes the game has evolved from the jab jab pressure, but denying that the game still has problems that can be improved, that capcom handled poorly a lot of decisions about the game, etc, etc, is foolish.
Some people really want to this game to be better, learn to differentiate from the stupid trolls and the people who actually has put thought on why they feel that X or Y is a problem. I can bet you that Mighfo has not shitted on SFxT. I have done it sometimes because is funny to troll you people, but i have also stated that i find it somehow fun to play due to bile fascination, and in other occasions i pointed what do i think that can improve in a constructive way.
HEY HEY HEY MIGHTFO BE NICE! Dallas players younite. Anyways, yup this game has problems. What fighter doesn’t? Some “problems” are definitely more perceived as problems than actually being detrimental to the game itself. This game does have a lot of unique features to itself and does not really play like anything out right now. I enjoy the hell out of the game.
My thoughts for the future of the game:
The patch. The patch is going to make or break this game of the masses. If there was one more shot this game had to earn some credibility it is going to HAVE to be with the patch. It is so hard to sell this game to people, even with the subtle patches (that really did make a difference to the play-ability of the game). I know the SXT diehards will keep at it but, if the patch fails, niche city is exactly where this game will reside.
I dunno man some of the SFxT fans like things that are not SFxT, they might have been in that boat before
I remember in another thread one SFXT player was acting like he was playing fucking Aquaplazza and got no recognition.
-.-;;; we’re off subject again. Stop talking about MECHANICS OR PROBLEMS!
Your game sucks: gasp
The time is stupid: It’s a legit strat???
The mechanics of sfxt: walk speed is gay. The producers of the game intended you to use speed gems to increase walk speed.
Gems: “Fuck pay to win”. Did capcom hold a gun to your head and tell you buy the pay to win gems?
DLC: Look up one one sentence. You are the one that determines whether they get more money or not. Nobody’s forcing you to buy them or be here as a matter of fact.
Sfxt players are rude, delusional and scrubs: Tell tatsu, ryan hunter, Dieminion, and Jibbo that. What a great list of crazy people and scrubs!
Your game is dead stop supporting it: Hahahahahahaha…sorry gimme a minute…hahahahahahaha!
Hey everyone in this thread please don’t forget we’re talking about the Future guys…NOT PRESENT OR PAST.
Progressive…not STUPID BANTER. Go debate sfxt politics in gen discussion or the ranting thread.
Edit*
oh ps. Lili is the future. Just saying =p
Okay, I might get this game now.
Been in that boat often; granted that was mostly among friends and not on a more grand scale. Never really was able to sell anyone I knew on Melty Blood or KoF on a serious level (just ended up being me and the people that introduced me to 'em that played).
Hell, I’m a Nintendo die-hard, so I deal with this kind of stuff every gen anyway. :razzy:
Ding ding ding ding ding
Noted. From now on I’ll try to ignore the people that complain instead of trying to educate people on the game, share knowledge and try to have a mature discussion on SRK. Hopefully I become a better person in the end.
C’mon man you know it’s not that. You said air dash games have no wakeup man, that shit is just dumb. Like everyone can appreciate that you are a good player…but for christ’s sake let’s just stick to what we know.
Oh yeah, that. hmm… Why did I talk about anime fighters when I don’t even play them, when I don’t know anything about them and don’t care about them… I don’t know. It’s puzzling really. It really makes you think…
I should definitely stick to what I play, like and know.
