The Future of SFxT

Man Tataki it is late and only 5 people are making sense.

Maybe we should all save this for when the sun is up and not rising.

Then take all this mass of top players and have a spectacular tournament!
Oh wait it wasn’t really a mass after all. Just 3 who really like the game, and another 5 who like another source of income and would not be touching it without prize money on the line.

I’m trying to give you real advice on how to get this game to be more popular, but you are too busy playing SFXT defense force to care.
Good for you if you dig the timeouts and gems and all that crap but most people don’t.

Maybe this is the reason why that egotistical garbage lunatic Sagat cosplayer is not playing this game.

As an Akuma Player in AE, and taking him up in SFXT. I can agree with what you are saying, I think that I found that most of my time in SF4 whilst playing Akuma was based SOLELY around landing that vortex.

After a while I just got bored with having to rely on a mix-up to beat people. It almost felt that my wins were kind of luck based (ok it did require a bit of reading skills like to reversal or not to reversal? At least.)

Hence I actually prefer SFXT Akuma over SF4 Akuma, he feels more ‘open ended’ as to how to play him and doesn’t feel as robotic in the fact that you have to learn 100 different vortex setups and unblockables for each character.

That said on the topic of footsies, his have been made worse from SF4 so it’s even harder to open people up on the ground without ‘dancing’ back and forward for what seems like forever trying to get that one whiff punish into a full combo :(. But man does it feel satisfying to out footsie someone like Kazuya, Ryu or Rolento and kill them for it.

There’s nothing really to talk about. This is basically a “how do I get more people to enter my scene?” topic with a specific game title attached to it that has been done a bajillion times already on SRK. It’s basically just go out to a tournament and play it and tell others about it. Then hope that established players in the tourney scene are doing the same and that it eventually adds up at a major where people get real turnouts and it actually gets stream time.

Streetfighter 4 - Super Streetfighter 4 - Super Streetfighter 4 Arcade edition - AE2012

Mvc3 - Ultimate Mvc3

Sfxtk - Super SFxT

THERE IS a faster and more offensive game in SFxT.

You just dropped the game before getting to that level of play. Get on Jibbo’s stream and try to survive 30 seconds then tell me this game is slow, boring and defensive.

I asked Die-minion about that actually at Summer Jam and he said , “I don’t know why people listen to Mr.Wizard sometimes.”

Smart people knew that Wiz was just being full of it. He could say ,“marvel won’t be at evo.” and people would believe him. The ironic thing is skull girls, in all of its obvious “please patch me” flaws, was still at evo.

A I started before what are something’s that other players are doing to jump start their scenes?

this board is meant to talk about the future of sfxt in a positive light, i would assume. A mod needs to start coming here and moving these people to the rant thread because it’s derailing positive aspects to help this game.

And for all those zealots who are on the hate bandwagon i have one thing to say to you all. As long as you’re here touting how capcom fucked up and all this shit well then stop supporting them i say. Stop coming here and reminding us the same dead horse. Why don’t you use something clever for once and say, “well i don’t like how the TWO <==== (pay attention morons you’re gonna learn something) console versions of sfxt are different. Why does SONY (Omfg forgot about them derp heads) get a better MORE (they have more characters more bang for you buck) characters than the xbox version. Why can’t i bring a friend over and we can’t go online together like the ps3.” Why look at that people. A constructive gripe about the game. Nobody here is thinking outside the box. why most of you won’t be good at this game because you complain way too much.
Oh money money money
DLC
The gameplay is bad.
So slow
Nobody likes it. (The most funniest of them all)
Only scrubs play this game.
You’re only helping capcom be bad business men.

I don’t take anyone who dislikes this game seriously because most of them are lemmings.
They subscribe to their own logic and reason. I’m sorry to say but most of your logic are flawed especially if you dropped the game, it’s like trying to give a lecture about astrophysics but you only once took the class and then dropped it. 1 day of gameplay doesn’t mean shit compared to people who have played it since release and until now. Lemme help you hate this game properly so i don’t have to sigh every time i read worthless posts.

I don’t like sfxt because the intial released cost way to much and then the dlc was found out. I spent a lot of money, i was not going to spend more for that. I felt cheated by capcom because i felt they under sold me content and my dlc only gems that came with the pre-order were going to be null and void with better gems. This is why i don’t support sfxt.

I don’t like how the xbox version got screwed over. Capcom made a bad move selling two copies of the game. The ps3 version feels like a more complete version of the game because it has more characters and pair play that doesn’t require finding a partner online.

The glitches in the game turned me away from the game. Even though they have patched it up and released new content I don’t feel like giving money to a game I don’t like or frankly play with my friends.

From an ethics standpoint i don’t agree with capcom’s business model. It has gotten to a point where I will not support them anymore or give them anymore of my business. They have long raped my wallet with different iterations of games that the fgc made jokes of because they knew another version would soon follow. The sfxt fiasco was the breaking point for me and I will support other games and companies. Tomorrow i’m trading in all my capcom fighters and actually going to do something positive like create my own fighting game or donate blood.

I for one wonder why capcom would think this would be a great idea. I am happy that they are suffering for years of suckering their fanbase. I hope they can take a step back and analyze what they did wrong and do not repeat it.

There are some things you could use up there. I know you all hate or like the game for said reasons but enough with the lowbrow comments.

And can we stay on topic. If you hate the game go do it with you buds so you can all jump off a bridge with them.

I used to hate on rollback, but rollback is the truth. We need people that rely on input lag gimmicks out of the online scene. They do nothing to contribute to actual growth of skill in the player base.

I feel like things are really positive for SFxT at the moment. General comment monstering is down to a minimum and the overall consensus is definitely on the up. This game would be dead by now if it was gonna croak.

Saying that, if everyone starts jumping back on SFxT’s nuts I’m going to have to quit it and go play some obscure weeaboo fighter no one’s heard of [/hipster]

This game is always gonna have haters and that won’t change. Just like in the old days you were either:

a Marvel 2 player, CvS2 player, or a Third Strike fanboy.

It’s history repeating itself. Just like those games we need to just expand our respective scene and stop intentionally competing against other FG scenes like that. As long as we get more fans and improve the overall skill of the SFxT scene it would be good. That becomes profitable to top players and TOs will consider this game viable again.

Getting discouraged by the hating is not an option.

Sorry if the tone on my thoughts on Oki game sounded like it was full of biased criticism. lol. There’s a reason Tokido doesn’t play Akuma on SFxT. LOL. SFxT Akuma feels like an old school version of Akuma…I can’t pinpoint which iteration he has the most resemblence. Possibly Alpha days Gouki? He definitely doesn’t feel SF3ish, though. That’s a good thing. Relying on your wins to much on mix ups and vortex gimmicks sometimes can feel like your just exploiting the fact your opponent can not guess right every time. That is secure damage and positioning you are gonna get at some point in your matches.

I am glad you have stuck with the character despite re-learning a brand new playstyle. Shows commitment. And Akuma is not trash on SFxT as many people have complained. He just has a brand new gameplan and people don’t want to adapt or play in a specific style. I actually think the Cross Assault raging demon set up is a little dirty thing but requires a good knowledge of spacing.

i still don’t get what the big deal is about disc locked content, that you have to pay for when the base game has tons of content and is still fully supported by capcom. I’m just not seeing the difference between having to pay to download an unlock code as opposed to having to pay to download the entire data. I get it if you’re against DLC period. I don’t get why the method of delivery matters.

Also… i don’t quite get why people that despise the game want to come into the SFxT forums to begin with. I hate MvC3 with a passion… so I have no reason to go into the MvC3 forums. If you really hate the game, then why are you here?

Did you read my posts? I think we agree on everything we have said. I wish more people can think like you. And yes going around forums QQing about a game you hate is pretty useless and annoying for the players who actually are trying to improve and have a coherent and constructive thread.

It’s the internet and trolls will always troll, though.

The game can be as viable and active as the players want it to be, it will be up to the community to show up for events to make themselves known and seen. This isn’t a game like SFIV or Marvel 3 where you can be a fan from a far and count on others to carry the water at events; it’s more like BlazBlue, where every one who plays the game is going to have to get out there to keep it going.

If people are wanting SFxT to be an Evo main event type game, I don’t see that happen, but as long as the SFxT community is showing up, playing, and keeping it hype, they stand a good chance of keeping their scene going for as long as they would like it to.

My .02.

i skipped about a pages worth since i was responding to yesterday’s messages lol… i really should start hitting refresh before posting to make sure i’m not too late

Woah, don’t bring Skullgirls into this.

Because Skullgirls was at evo because the people who loved it got it there as a side tourny.

It didn’t get a free ride just because it was a Capcom game.

So, if you a problem with it being “at evo”, you need to take it up with the 105 people who played in that tourny, not Mr.Wizard.

SFxT was pure ass before they patched everything. Now the game is better for sure. 100% better. Do I like playing it? Not at all. But is it a better game now? Hell yes.

I honestly think that SFxT is better than SF4. If I have to play SFxT and get my community into it just so I can keep this game alive and kill SF4, then I will do it. I think that this game should be kept alive for another year to see how everything developes.

Did you read my posts (on page 3) they explain why me and other people don’t approve of disc locked content
