--The Future Of Gaming--

Hey Alex, I noticed that you posted in the LA ST thread that you were going to test out AE this week. Do you think there’s any chance of being able to set up a Dreamcast there with ST, since it sounds like that’s the version we’ll be playing at EVO?

XBOX360 and PC ONLY guys :karate:

If everything goes right I’ll end up throwing tournaments here with compatible games.

I figured that’d be the case. Just thought it was worth asking about :wgrin:

Tournaments would definitely be cool. This place is a bit of a hike for me, so I’m not sure how often I’d go, but I’d definitely make it out for events like that

Hey Alex! Assuming GOW gets enough support, would it be played on 360 or on PC? Or would that too depend on player interest?

I’ll ask tomorrow… most likely player interest.

Which version do you play? I’m on xboxlive all the time. :smokin:

What about using PCs to emulate stuff like ST?

another good question…

i’ll bring it up tomorrow

I usually play it on PC at a friend’s LAN cafe in Fullerton. I like the fact the Lancer actually does damage on the PC version.

I haven’t played the 360 version in a while. Is playing on Live still SHOTGUNS OF WAR? Thanks for the response.

Well on host team its lancers and non host its shotgun…

still good fun on xlive

Here are the results from last nights hardware test at Howie’s Game Shack-

On arrival I had to sign in at the front counter with Howie’s staff and purchased an hour worth of time($5). Wrote down my name, screen name,DOB, and email. They gave me a station and a complimentary Monster Energy drink =) now on to the testing.

I had to retrieve my Xbox Live account in order to play SFAE for the updates. Took about 10 mins to finish both tasks. I used the VF5 EX Fighting Stick since its the only stick worth playing with non-modded.

First game I tried was Third Strike. Picked Ken and just went on a hit confirm/kara DP frenzy in training mode. Now on the first few tries I can tell theres no unbearable lag but I wasn’t easily convinced. Maybe I got lucky and got used to the timing off the bat. So I picked 12 and started to air dive cross up HK, Cr.LK-QCB+LPxx X.N.D.L which is a tough combo to get consistently even without lag. From the 20 mins spent on this game I can tell you that there is no unbearable lag. :bgrin:

Next game tested was AE. Afrolegends picked DeeJay and did what I did with Third Strike, super combo practice in training mode. Now it took Afro a few times to get connect his combos cause he hasn’t touched AE in months, neither have I. Rusty as shit LOL. He eventually got all those cheap redizzies and crazy boxer headbutt set ups going. I picked n.ryu and was doing walking DPs with ease and tiger knee Hurricane Kicks for advancement . The game was smooth and got a crowd going once we got into the flow of things with our chars. No lag.

Last game tested was Virtua Fighter 5. I picked Akira/Lau and went through the attack lists. I also practiced some ETEG vs 2 throws(evade throw escape gaurd). I’m not godly enough to do more than 2 throws LOL. Didn’t have trouble at all with this game. I even got a a lag free XBOX Live match going LOL.

Everything went well at Howies. The staff was friendly and also if anybody remembers Marc ,from SHGL, works there too. The interest is there as casual PC and FPS players walked by and formed a little crowd to watch us test.

damn looks like a very nice place.

and they have stacker. i’m convinced.

sucks that they won’t support more consoles, but considering they’re playing on those tvs the only other consoles that’d be any good on them is the ps3 and maybe the wii.

^^ yea that does look like a pretty nice setup they have there. that’s awesome that 3s and AE worked on there without unbearable lag. i guess i’ll have to look for a converter to xbox360.

edit:no go with converter.i guess the vf5 stick is the cheapest way to go.

looks like some kid there had fun hahahah just kidding bro

I’ve only been to the Mission Viejo Howie’s, I’ll have to swing by this one since it’s so close (and holy shit, Marc is working there? I haven’t seen him in for-fucking-ever!). I think you got the free Monster due to their sponsorship from them, I think they did the same to me in Mission. Sounds like a good plan you got goin’ on here, Alex. I’ve forwarded this link to everyone here at work and hopefully that’ll spread out and start drumming up interest in this.

BRINGIN’ BACK SHGL GLORY DAYS IN '08 WOOOOOO

Damn, Geno from Changoland? Motherfuckers crawling out the woodwork for this thread

Would some of you guys be interested in trying out Battle Fantasia? Me and a friend recently got the game and so far it’s a lot of fun. We both have PS3 sticks but I’m just wondering if maybe we can setup some type of gathering at Howie’s. That way everyone gets a chance to try out the game and or have multi PS3/360 games setup.

New fighters is the way to go so I’m down to play.

Anybody else?

i’ve been wanting to learn that game since i heard it was coming out for the ps3. my only problem would be getting over to westminster.

Awesome avatar.

If anybody wants to practice ST or AE with me at Howie’s or somewhere else, please post here and I’ll try to set something up. I have lost the drive to play over the last couple of months, but I hope by playing again, it will bring my killer instinct back.
