The friggin stupid tekken 6 netcode thread

It’s amazing when you consider how well the netcode on Blazblue turned out when these big name companies can’t manage to put out descent online to save their lives.

Tekken 6’s net code just makes me want to play Street Fighter IV’s Championship Mode.

For me, anything below Green is unplayable. Basically green bar in Tekken 6 feels like 3 bar SFIV online. And teal bar in Tekken 6 feels like 4 bar SFIV.

WTB FIX!

Yeah, slightly off topic, but when I first got blazeblue, and played online, I almost cried at how good it was. If there’s ANY lagg whatsoever at the game, at the time of the character’s entrance scene’s it’s already stabilized, that’s amazing. Not like tekken, who claims that it’s synching and yet you only get some laggy ass bullshit.

Ive played people with teal bars and the match was basically in slow motion lol.

Ive maybe had like 3 matches that ran smooth and was able to actually pull off juggles.

Maybe they should have used ggpo?

How does lag have nothing to do with online play, especially in Tekken?

With input lag, the timing for any -> N (Combo) is skewed.

I can see how it wouldn’t apply to button mashers though.

At random times when I want to play Ranked Matches, it’ll give me that stupid message saying that I’ve failed to connect to my opponent but when this happens it keeps happening even if I try to connect again like fifteen more times. The only solution I’ve found is to continue playing Scenario Campaign for a while or don’t play Tekken 6 at all for about an hour or so, then come back to it and then Ranked Matches starts working perfectly fine again.

This has been happening ever since I got the game. It just won’t let me connect to opponents at random times during the day. When I can connect to someone, it’s consistent. So at a random time period I’d fail to connect to someone twenty times in a row, then during another time period I’m able to connect to someone twenty times in a row. It’s like I can either play Ranked Match or not.

What the hell is going on?! Please tell me it’s the bad net code 'cause I know it can’t be my Internet connection. It makes no sense. It frustrates me because I’ve spent so much time in the campaign trying to save up enough Fight Money to purchase the goddamn Ki aura and then I can’t even play Ranked Match to show it off, lol.

I’m gonna say it’s your connection, not exactly sure though. It’s never happened to me and haven’t really heard of that happening to anyone else.

Opened ports?

Yeah, my ports are open. I was thinking it could be the other people’s ports but then again I don’t know how I could fail to connect to someone that many times in a row. I could understand if I failed to connect like every other time or so but that isn’t the case. I’m able to connect to people perfectly fine right now. But if I stop playing and turn the game back on later on, I’ll probably get the problem again. It’s weird.

By the way, I went to go pick up a copy of Tekken 6 for the PS3 for a friend of mine. It runs so slow on the PS3, even after installing it. It’s not like the extra five seconds you have to wait for during the Versus screen in Street Fighter IV either. It’s like fifteen extra seconds on the Versus screen for Tekken 6, lol. What the hell’s up with that…

Let’s hope that they’re gonna release that patch in a timely manner…

“There, I’ve just helped you beat Nightmare Train. Easy. Merry Christmas.”

I wonder how the treasure boxes in co-op campaign would work. I know the treasure boxes are random and could contain an item for either you or your partner (but mostly for your character). If that rule stays the same then would both players get the same exact item for the characters or would only the player that grabbed the treasure receive it? Hmm…

'Cause it could either be like…

P1: Yes! We picked up a Demonic Sword with an attribute for Devil Jin!
P2: You bastard, I don’t even use Devil Jin!

Or…

P1: Yes! I picked up a Demonic Sword with an attribute for Devil Jin!
P2: Ah, you bastard!

Actually, the rule is that whoever picks up the item, the item becomes an item that character could use.

o, im not talking about that patch, im talking about the lag patch, cuz there’s news of releasing one.

Oh, so if your partner picks up the treasure box, it becomes an item for that character? I thought it was about 50/50. I usually always go for the treasure box myself so I thought you just had more of a chance to get an item for your character. It makes sense then.

So if I were Lars for example and I picked up a treasure box, would Player 2 (my co-op partner) get the same exact item for his / her Lars too? That’s what I’m wondering. If only I got the item then my partner would be pissed and vice versa. That’s like a free extra 300,000 G right there. That or something really good.

Yeah, that netcode patch should be great. I heard that the King of Fighters XII finally got the patch for 360 so I popped it in the other day just to try it out. The online was a lot better and was actually playable. Problem is, no one plays KOF XII. No one ever did. The game lost it’s chance and it’s not going to redeem itself with it’s super-late netcode patch. I’m like, “Man, this is great that KOF XII, a game which I really liked, got it’s netcode patch but there’s no point of playing it now because Tekken 6 is out and I’d rather play that right now”. I would love to play KOF XII but there’s just no point now because there’s no tournaments for it and Tekken 6 is going to be a lot more popular.

I’ve been disconnected after the match was completely over and the points tally…and they give me a “penalty” as if I’d disconnected purposely. Now THAT pissed me off.

Don’t you mean the figgin AWESOME Tekken 6 netcode thread? I can’t plug the patch enough. For those who might have given up on this game online before the patch, go get the 1.02 patch and play. Netcode is really good now. Namco delivered.

If the King of Fighters XII had gotten its patch as fast as Tekken 6 did, then maybe it would have still been alive. Maybe.

KoF’s patch didn’t let me play people Brisbane-to-Sydney with unnoticeable lag, if anything, delaying it and making it better would have been more effective.

I wouldn’t call it “really good”, but I will say it’s a **** of a lot better than it was.
