Canadians aren’t are privileged as our American counterparts when it comes to stick prices. besides $100 for any high quality stick is a deal anywhere.

i think the easiest way around that defect is to electrical tape the inside bottom…
went touring around various gamestops today. Snagged two WWE Brawl Sticks for $20 a pop. Gave one to a friend, but thinking about keeping the other one and swapping out sanwa parts. Is there a place to get the standard sanwa replacement jlf and buttons all bundled together for a decent price?
Bundled, no. But at focusattack.com 8 OBSF-30s and a JLF stick are $45, which is pretty cheap. There’s also shipping though. If you wait for a major tournament to happen, they usually run sales during tournaments.
FA is good for items all together under 50 ish.

Call around to local game stops and ask for the WWE All Stars BrawlStick by Madcatz. They probably won’t have it in stock, but will be able to tell you if any local stores have them. It’s worth a drive. It’s a $50 clone of the Street Fighter IV SE fightstick, only with horrible art. They’re letting them go for $20 a piece, and they’re very easy to mod. I went for a pleasant afternoon drive around metro Atlanta the other day and picked up two of them for $20 a pop. You might have to call several gamestops though. I’d get different answers from several, but finally got a few confirmations. Great stick for a steal.

Brawl Sticks have better stock parts honestly, and are the exact same in terms of modding. Great first stick. 20 bucks, plus another 50 for a replacement stick, buttons and art.

I have to disagree on the quality of the Brawl Stick’s joystick. From my experience and read that many others had the same problem that the joystick has a real hard problem hitting the diagonals. No jumping forward or backward and no crouching block. I tried sanding off the square gate, but it didn’t help enough. Replacing the Madcatz restrictor plate with a Sanwa plate might fix it.
The joystick will need to be replaced immediately. It’s okay to keep the buttons until they break.

Weird, I cleared out 6 Brawl Sticks for cheap (made new art and swapped parts in to be given for X-Mas gifts next Winter) and all of mine were playable from the box. Se or Brawl, the joystick is probably going to have to be replaced within a month or so anyways.
