Nice to see the forums are back. Weird but I’ll get used to it.
But my old account seems to have been lost in the transfer, I can no longer access it. Is/Did anyone else have this issue? Will I need a new account? Are the forums not actually up and running and I need to wait a bit longer? Just looking for information.
If you don’t remember the username, search for the text of your past posts to figure out the username - it might have gotten slightly mangled during the migration.
If your username did get mangled, raise a “custom” flag for the mods after you regain access.
As a first step, try signing in with your username & password from the old forums. If you get signed in, you’re done with account migration! If your password is too short, you might be required to reset it instead. Continue to step 3.
If you remember the e-mail address you used, click on “I forgot my password” and enter the email to get a password reset email. If you don’t remember, you can still put in your username - check all your e-mail inboxes if you do this, though!
I have a similar issue. When I try to reset my password by email account, it does not recognize it (except under this new name).
I haven’t used a different email in over 15 years so…?
Yeah my old Sephiroth73003 account has the same issue. I have a really old email address and can confirm I was getting e-mail notifications for watched threads till late February to that e-mail.
Same problem, can’t log in and can’t use password recovery (old account was made with an old e-mail I don’t even remember the pass of). Old username was Cronopio. Any way to solve this?
The emails addresses got lost in the migration. I’m coming up with a script to repair it. For now I turned off new registrations so people don’t create duplicate accounts.
DarthEnder here. Same problem. Can’t log into my old account, doesn’t recognize my old password. And when I tell it to email me a password reset, nothing shows up in my inbox.
Well ain’t this one heck of an overhaul to get used to.
BTW: Password length matters, cause I had to use the reset cause old one was too short (BUT SO SECURE).
Alright so here’s what happened. I didn’t see this topic. I created a new account using the same email as my old account. Then I came to see if there were any pointers about old accounts being lost. Now when I go to reset my password I only receive a reset request for the NEW account I just made.
