As for the Ghana vs Uruguay game. That penalty kick was the game winning kick. Why would he pull off something that risky?
It’s either let the goal in or throw your hands up and take the penalty kick. One leads to certain defeat, the other leads to a 50 percent chance of defeat. Absolutely nothing wrong with what he did.
It’s akin to intentionally fouling someone on a breakaway layup that wins the game in basketball or pass interference on a surefire touchdown in football.

If there were no cards for handballing and players were expected to not handball through a honor system then yeah he cheated. But what he did was clearly inside the system and he got punished for it. Fuck whatever “romantic” idea you have of “fair play” and that shit. Suarez did what he had to do to at least give his team a last chance. He paid for his stunt too with the red card. He simply took one for the team, and his gamble paid off.
Was Suarez also responsible for Gyan missing that penalty shot? Or those other 2 blunders during the penalty shootout? Yeah, didn’t think so…
