Not to jinx this or to get too far ahead of ourselves… but is it possible to see the US in a semifinal? I think so… I mean US / Ghana is going to be a tough match but I think the US can (and will) beat Ghana… that would lead them to play the winner of Uruguay / South Korea in the Quarterfinals… I think this US squad could beat S. Korea and while I think Uruguay might be the better side… its not inconceivable that in a one off, that the US could beat Uruguay and make a Semi-Final… thoughts???

Yeah that’s usually my experience too, but there are legit female futbol fans, and some of the chicks on this show were former players and seem to know about their team and history. Maybe it was all fed to them or something, I can’t tell, but if it’s real that’s pretty cool.

I think South Korea will have a hard time getting past Uruguay. And if they to meet the US, the US should be able to steamroll them. I think the US loses to Uruguay however.

Italy and France are the two teams that are characterized by their diving. This should come as a shock to no one, they got 11 Vlade Divacs out there. Hate em all you want, but it has worked for them in the past. Hopefully not this year. GO SLOVAKIA!!!

Yep. Uruguay is a scary team. The US can beat Korea but they would probably get rolled by Uruguay. As a Korean-American, I’m just hoping South Korea doesn’t get demolished by Uruguay. I predict a final of 3-1 Uru, and that’s being hopeful. I’m glad South Korea actually got to the knockout rounds though. After the farce that was the 02 World Cup, I’m glad Korea showed that they can play well even without ludicrous home-court referee treatment. I couldn’t even root for them that year, it was embarrassing.
Anyway, I would love to see South Korea vs USA, so I can root for the US and troll my parents. I was born in the US. This is my home and my country, Korea is just where my parents are from. But I’ll root for Korea as long as they’re not playing the US.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. In the city I live there are a lot of Italian people, and boy am I happy that they are out. It’s one thing to cheer for your team, but it’s completely something else when your team is garbage and you think they are the best in the world.
