not the most beautiful of games but the second half was pretty entertaining imo. i wish japan had the skills and concentration to have a better attack and ball possession during defense.
for cameroon a huge dissapointment being the top african team losing to one of the supposedly weak teams in the tournament. their soccer didnt look too good. ghana looked better.
Both played so extremly bad, it’s like unbeliveable and losing to that jap team … Just look at the avergae midfield play in this game, that was youth niveau lol. Specially the sidline play was horrible, I mean those guys are pros. I doubt Cameroon will ever play this bad again in this cup. At least that is what I like to belive. In my ESPN bracket, I have Japan getting through the group along with Germany. Other upset I picked that is going well is South Korea getting out of their group.
Australia is the only pick I made that I’m regretting so far. But seeing how bad Ghana and Serbia looked yesterday makes me hope they can get a miracle and somehow beat Ghana and have a shot.

man that was a boring game. no chances, really sloppy play. japan wasn’t trying to keep control of the ball at all…3 passes then cross up the middle hoping to out beat the defenders. thats’ like how we used to play when i was like 15. beauty pass on that goal though.

African teams need to stop overshooting their kicks. Cameroon had much better possession but it didn’t translate as they just kept fucking blasting it.

He he,I so hope Italy gets stomped. -_- That old, fat team is far beyond their prime and they still play ugly ball … Oh well, will be hard for Valdez, Barrios or Roque to score on that defence line. Italy is never to be underestimated and they actually have a great goalkeeper. 
The level of play in the World Cup is typically quite a bit worse than in league play. It’s why you see so many missed scoring opportunities and bad goal keeping. Kinda like how any NBA team would ROFLSTOMP any of the teams from the Olympics. It’s just a bunch of players and a coach thrown together without a whole lot of time spent playing together and building that chemistry. You are not watching the best soccer in the world right now.
But they sure do WANT it more, which is why I watch. It’s like watching pro athletes playing in a college sport situation x 1000. They just WANT to win so bad, it makes the rather second-rate soccer watchable.

Some teams are still really good and on a world class level. But indeed the better first league clubs of germany, italy, spain, england, france would kill most national teams … But really, who cares if you look at the WORLD TITLE and becomming a national hero.^^
