The Football (Soccer) Thread - Season 2017/2018

Extra Time now. Come on the Irish!

Come on lads!

I believe!

Damn France won…

Not yet they haven’t.

Thierry Henry = Cheating cunt

Henry is a cheating prick!

Two handballs in the one move and neither the ref or linesman gave it.

Cheating froggy bastards!

Francheaters, as usual. I hope that referee gets banned forever, and Henry skipping some turns in the world cup
(in last year Serie A for a similar episode Gilardino was disqualified for 4 games)

Hard not to feel robbed…and Henry has the cheek to say it was the referees fault. At least Gallas didn’t celebrate much ElObQcnl0dw"]unlike Henry running around like he just scored some kind of wonder goal (like a few years ago)

When I first heard about it I thought maybe the ball had grazed Henry’s arm or something. But no, he straight caught the thing and brought it back in play.

That’s the worst way to go out. wow

I just saw the video. That was bullshit. Henry even admitted he did that on purpose. I hope he gets headbutted in the World Cup.

I would rape the hell out of this chick, red jersey #15.

She plays dirty, my type of girl.

Everybody wants to see the likes of Henry, Benzema, Ribery in the World Cup…
Nobody wants to see Kevin Doyle, Liam Lawrence and Kevin Kilbane at an event for the Elite.
You US dudes dont know shit about “SOCCER”.

There was this one latina soccer player in my HS name Angie that I hooked up with; she was fine. Family was fucked up, brother was too even though he went on to play pro, but she was a good fuck. I think it was cause of soccer.

LOL @ someone with GameFAQ in his nick attempting to dictate anything to anyone.

Go fuck yourself!

Seriously, just go fuck yourself!

I’m a casual fan of soccer so I want to ask you guys a question (this is geared mostly to the Europeans of this thread but everyone can answer): What is your overall impression of MLS? I happen to really like it and it’s direction. Granted it will NEVER be as popular as football, baseball, or basketball but it does it’s job. Even though Beckham has been somewhat of a let down (even though the LA Galaxy are in the MLS Cup against Real Salt Lake), I think MLS is starting to really find it’s niche.

Expansion has been rapid: Real Salt Lake joined in 2005, San Jose Earthquakes moved to Houston and became the Dynamo in 2006, Toronto FC and a new San Jose Earthquakes joined in 2007, Seattle Sounders FC joined this year, the Philadelphia Union will join next year, and the Portland Timbers and the Vancouver Whitecaps will join in 2011.

Personally, I like it and I think it does it’s job.

And Sounders supporters are top tier.

So I was like, “LOL @ City”. Then I was like, “LOL @ Liverpool”. Then it was “LMAO @ Liverpool”. And then it became “OMG LMAO @ City”.

That was entertaining from two teams that can’t seem to end a match with 3 points.

Man Utd doing enough to beat a poor Everton team 3-0. Fletcher’s goal was great though.

I say they’re not doing bad at all, for a league that’s just 13 years old (more or less?), in a country dominated by other sports like baseball and football. You can see a lot more people following the games at the stadiums than at the beginning of the league (which looked more like a session of bingo). Some people may see the league as sort of a “Necromonicon” of sorts (i.e. hires players in the twilights of their careers), but I can see why the MLS wants to bring in recognizable names so they can gather more attention to them (although the money pitched at Beckham was a TAAAAAAD bit overpriced. A-Rod just grimaced in jealousy).

My opinion is that they are on the right track, they just need further establishment.
