This is what I was talking about. Two weeks ago FIFA President Sepp Blatter changed this to a seeded draw rather than a random draw to protect the big teams like France, Portugal and Russia.
If it were seeded, matches would look like this:
Russia vs. Ireland
Ukraine vs. Portugal
France vs. Bosnia
Greece vs. Slovenia
That sounds decent enough. Why would FIFA risk a possible Portugal vs. France matchup? 
Russia, France, Portugal and Greece are the seeded teams, so theyâll be randomly drawn against one of the remaining four.
The qualifying groups were ALREADY seeded to improve their chances and they didnât perform over a series of at least ten matches and now theyâre being seeded AGAIN to give them another better chance.
Itâs all to do with money and nothing to do with football.
Wait, FIFAâs determining the European qualifiers? I thought UEFA was responsible for that.
Blatter was the one who announced it although Iâm sure Platini had a hand in it too.
