The Flash TV Series Thread

Well they fooled me, i really thought flashpoint was going to be a thing for season 2. The writers are really good at keeping us on our toes, lol. The whole eddie thawne name drop early in the season gots me all kinds of messed up too. gg, got rekt.

I figured that’s why future Barry told young Barry not to save mom. He knew it would start Flashpoint and the new 52. Trying to save TV Barry from that crapfest.

I thought this flash WAS based on new 52, hence black Iris and gay singh? maybe it would have created NEW new 52 - new 104? -, which would have resulted in oriental iris and transgender singh.

No. Iris in 52 is based on the TV show. They got wind of black iris was happening early on and decided to change her for comics. Barry is based on pre-52 wally.

Still salty as fuck at Johns for what he did to everyone’s favorite ginger super hero.

Wait, flash point did not create the new 52…

I’m just going to bring this up one more time. When Flash went back 1 day, the Yesterday Flash disappeared. But in the season finale when Flash went back to the night his mom was murdered, Future Flash, Present Flash, and Young Flash were all in the same room together. Future and Present Flashes even looked at each other. But not one of them disappeared.

I’m glad they sort of discussed Cisco’s nightmares though. Even if he never develops an actual power, at least we can attribute it to him being a meta, albeit a very weak and/or unable to tap into his power.

The episode explained what happened to Yesterday Barry. When he traveled back the 1 day he created a parallel timeline. Yesterday Barry stayed in the timeline that wasn’t altered.

Dat ending. So erm Garrick created the second wormhole? Thought he wasnt boss enough to use the speed force?

dunno about new 52, but originally no one knew shit about the speedforce except for max mercury cause he was bouncing around time. (basically why i think he should be mentoring barry and not garrick if he shows up.) max had some details and insights, but wally more or less was the first to really access it and share his knowledge and expertise to the rest of the flashes. jay had no real indepth knowledge to the speed force…mainly since it was created around 95, basically around the same time as impulse.

There’s also many reasons for Garrick to be in the Speed Force, mainly Infinite Crisis when Garrick helped the other Flashes take Superboy Prime and trap him within it.

i dont think they’d touch that, if anything its probably gonna be crisis on infinite earths. that ones a bit more easier to manage with the characters their allowed to use. but unless their retconning a whoooole bunch of shit…jay doesnt know dick bout the speedforce.

Remember when Barry (I think it was him) had to do math in his head in order to run fast? Motherfucker was going Good Will Hunting the entire time he was running around. I thought that was the dumbest explanation of being a speedster ever.

math? do you mean the equation he spit out…that wasnt barry, that was johnny quick.

It was a Flash, for sure. I bought that comic back when I was 12 so we’re talking about roughly 18 years ago. I wish I could recall the story, I just remember Flash running around thinking up equations to remain fast.

that def wouldnt have been barry. that would have been around wallys time, and johnny quick bit the dust around the time the speedforce got introduced. so it was prob him.

Well I stayed away from this thread until I had time to power out the rest of the season. I won’t put any spoilers in here but did anyone else find Iris to be the most annoying character in the show by a factor of 10? My wife made fun of her in every scene she was in by saying, ā€œI WANT A PONY!ā€ I think this is a pretty accurate description of her character. Otherwise I found the show pretty solid, and will watch next season.

Yeah most people agree…which made it all the more telling when she told off Barry and Joe for not letting her in on him being the Flash because for once she was absolutely correct. When IRIS was right, you know you fucked up.

And her body was on point.
