One way mirrors don’t really exist. All it is is glass with a metallic coating sprayed on one side with a bright light shined on one side. Makes it hard to see through it if you are standing on the same side as the bright light.
I love how Arrow is doing everything they can to remove any possible trace of superhuman abilities by explaining it through science. And then Flash is like “Oh yeah, we got a super genius talking monkey”.

Grodd’s village was given psionic abilities by aliens in old DCU. I don’t believe this has changed in New 52, but Grodd’s origins in New 52 have not been made clear.

I mean, at least make the lazarus pit be a scientific “soup” that got jacked, and is now being used on ollie to regenerate him to perfect health+, or vastly increase his healing speed.
For a show taking itself so serious, and doing a decent job at it, they completely dropped the ball on this ollie resurrection shit.

Nothing about S3 Arrow has been attempting to be scientific.
Nor are they trying to deny the existence of superhuman abilities. They’ve already met Barry, and even Thea has seen him (he ran past her in the crossover). All they’re doing is attaching science to the powers, instead of metagenes or people just randomly having powers out of nowhere.
It is what it is. There is mysticism, magic, and superscience flying all over the place. They’re just trying to keep Arrow focused on the less outrageous metas, and saving all of the super-hax for Flash.
In truth, the Flash is trying to be scientific as well. It’s not like these powers literally came out of nowhere. Save for Dr. Wells, everybody else’s powers is based off the particle accelerator. They then use some form of science to vaguely explain the villain’s powers. It’s pretty much given Dr. Wells used some sort of time travel device, or gotten super speed via a particle accelerator to run back in time.
Point is, even though Flash has wonky science, it’s still science. Arrow still has pretty much impossible acts of physical power and skill, but not as absurd as Flash.
It’s called the Charles Atlas superpower. Or, being Not-Batman.
