Stein is the only Legend who knew who Thawne as he was a cast member of The Flash season 1. The rest of the Legends never knew of him. The Thawne that appeared on Legends is the one that Barry stopped to save his mother to create Flashpoint.
First off the Legends had no recollection because literally none of them had met him. Stein knew that the Reverse Flash existed (since he fought him), just not his name. Everyone on Team Flash still remembers him quite well.
Second, while Eddie erased Eobard, it only worked to a point. The Eobard that killed Barry’s mother still has to exist in that timeframe in order for him to be erased in the first place. As we don’t know when Savitar is created, it’s possible he existed in a pocket of time too critical to be erased from.
And third, this is ALL dependent on Savitar not being a Time Remnant in the first place.
Another question because I don’t pay much attention anymore:
Barry’s slow, right? I mean, Wally runs faster than him and Jesse can keep up with him even though they got their powers recently, while Barry’s had 3 seasons. Is there a reason for why he’s so easy to keep up with or is it just bad writing?
Wally being faster than him is tradition really.

I don’t understand these complaints. Being a speedster is his dream come true. He defied Barry’s orders because he had faith in himself. And how many times despite having super speed did Barry need help? All the damn time. Jesse is on Earth 3, so of course he would go there to see her. His sister was killed so he wanted revenge.
You must be ignoring his character development to make these complaints.
So a theory as to which Barry is Savitar is the OG Barry. Meaning the Barry we see that saves Barry as a kid i.e. the same Barry that is there when current Barry went back in time to save his mom in Season 1. The one that told him not to interfere and save his mom. I completely forgot that the Barry and team we’ve been following is from an alternate timeline created by Reverse Flash who jump started everything ahead by 7 years.
My theory is that Savitar is the Barry from Flashpoint. Flashpoint factors to heavily this season for Savitar to not be a product of it.
In LOT Future Barry left a message to Rip and Stein ended up hearing it, its on the crossover episodes I think. He says that he created Flashpoint and when the Legends come back to 2016-17 they shouldn’t trust anyone, not even himself.
I hope they’ll expand on it now that we know who Savitar is.
The Barry who left that message is middle age. He sounded like he was in his mid to late 40s. Savitar isn’t that much older than present Barry.
I forgot that our main characters aren’t the original timeline. The fact that they refer to themselves as Earth-1 erased the beginning Barry from my mind, really.

Remember when Thawne went back in time to kill Barry’s mom an older Barry pursued him. Thawne got trapped in the past and replaced Wells he speed up when the particle accumulator explosion occurred. In the timeline the show follows the explosion happened a decade earlier than expected.
So what’s the point of Savitar’s suit? Does it make him run faster?
