<div class=“QuoteText”>Does anyone else in here use Drones with Firebrand? What do you do when people try to just hold raw tag during unblockable set-ups and/or use invincible reversals? Or, are there unblockable set-ups with Firebrand and Drones that leave them airborne (although that’d still kind of suck because my most damaging corner BnB requires the foe to be grounded but I guess leaving them with fewer options to escape is better than 50-100k of damage)?</div>

You should typically be using Okizeme set ups here are a few I use
Oh, I’m sure my unblockable set-ups work fine for oki too (the drones hit meaty and the only way to get out is to raw tag or reversal), so I’ll keep using the same set-ups, but using regular mix-ups instead of the unblockable. Kinda sucks that the only way to force people to respect the unblockable is hit them with it in the air, though.
If you got them to block Drones on the ground, ideally you want to be mixing them up over charging an unblockable. His high/low game is close to unblockable status only much safer and you aren’t committing to anything. What you can do though is use qcb+H to fake an unblockable if you suspect a raw tag or an invincible attack. The fake is also great if you think they’ll take the hit during an incoming setup since you can dash down into a free combo if they eat something like Jam Session or Stalking Flare
Do you mean setups? Fuzzies generally work the same with any assist. Firebrand isn’t as reliant on fuzzies for his high/low game since j.L is instant overhead on everyone but it does make him slightly harder to block than he already is
With Drones I haven’t found any super tight setups. Basically just have them wakeup into Drones after a knockdown (you want to land around the same time you do to make the Drones call as early as possible). If you guess right on their tech roll you can land on them with an air button as they get up then follow up with an overhead
Can someone remind me (with a link) where a post ended up in these forums? The one I’m referring to was from someone who analyzed the use of hard tags after bon voyage. It listed the circumstances under which you could continue the combo and which characters it worked with.
The reason I’m trying to figure this stuff out is that I witnessed someone on a stream hard tagging to doom after bon voyage and OTGing with standing H to continue to a TOD and I wanted to hit the lab with some notes.

I use standing M to Hardkick (forward H). you can get two relaunches from this setup assuming you didn’t do too many hits prior to bon voyage hitting.
After messing around in the lab, I thought of this solo incoming mix up with luminous body.
Jump L dive (Cross under) M Dive -> L/M Dive
After the first L dive, You can go for a High/Low or grab
After M Dive, you can do L Dive or M dive again
After L/M dive, You can go for a High/Low or grab
Obviously this gets stuffed by helm breaker, dive kick etc. This is probably impractical but what do you guys think?
Is this your video? If so, which of the first two combos do you prefer? I find the timing for these both to be very difficult. Then again, i’ve only played firebrand for a day lol.
Lastly, I see Zak do this combo in luminous body where he hard tags doom in the corner. I’m assuming its S, sj H, Mdive, S, land hard tag. can someone confirm? anyway to get this hard tag in the corner without being in luminous body ?
Luminous Body is almost a must (realistically, it is). I’ve messed around with this a lot in training mode and to do it outside of dah bod mode is ridiculously unpractical and doesn’t really work on alot of character’s hitboxes.
Nah thats not me lol. He does have some neat Firebrand combos on there though.
But I usually just use the 2nd combo for small chars like wolv, rr, arthur etc. and use the first combo for the rest.
Like gamegeezer, said you can do the hard tag combo in the corner with luminous body. The hard part for me was the timing to OTG with doom after the raw tag.
Hi I have a couple of questions about the setups here

He does the meaty fireball on incoming and then cancels to luminous body. In order to get the guard break do you have to dash forward and then jump or can u just jump straight at him? Additionally, your opponent has to advancing guard or does the super cause him to be throwable after the pause?

I see Zak always do this in his videos, he gets a hit on 2nd or 3rd character with firebrand and on his first launch he pops x factor and hard tags doom after bon voyage in the corner. Is this hard tag immediate (like do I just hold the tag while bon voyage is happening)? sometimes when I try to get the f+H or standing/crouching L with doom it comes out too slow. Is this character specific?
Lastly, I don’t think he does it in the video i linked, but I"ve seen Zak end combos with firebrand with qcf+H in the corner as a meaty wake up and then he does either L/H+ cold star and then demon missile M to set up his mixup. anyone else use this option and can vouch for its “safety”? trying to develop some mixup options on wake up.
i’m also experimenting with firebrand/modok/doom so i’m thinking dok beam and doom rocks would work best here. Unsure. Never used rocks before.
