Has nothing to do with cheating… well sort of.
There’s just an exploit for an item that you can obtain and use it to gain 17358 exp. However, the item necessary for that can only be obtain from a Guildcraft leves over at Gridania.
It’s just an oversight in the items ability, but it allows any class in the game to hit at least level 40. And after that, it becomes a little hard due to lack of allowance, but still possible to reach level 50 in less than a day because of this.
I dunno… this is the first time I reported something to a game company, explaining the exploit. As long as they remove that reward, it should be okay.
I feel kinda bad, cause when testing this exploit, I went to another server (didn’t want to do this to my main characters), and created a new char and just did it. While doing it, people left and right were sending me Tells, asking me over and over wondering how I hit level 40 in less than 30 minutes. I even got reported several times. Makes sense why they freak, tho. I’d be tripping if I saw the message:
"XXX character is now level 15"
and the number went up every 30 seconds or so, non-stop.
My game randomly crashed on me, giving me a R6025.
Possibly something to do with the client, which I wouldn’t doubt given how the game has been acting.
Yeah, I went hard on FATEs to get to 50 as I’m sure every lvl 50 in this thread did.
I agree that FATEs are pretty out of control the way it is right now. We’re even getting to the point where some dungeons/instances have the healers and tanks crying because there are no DPSes in queue, which is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard . It’s always been the other way around.
I wouldn’t mind FFXI style exp grinding (pre-Abyssea), but that shit’s never coming back. That was how people got to explore most of the world and also get good at their jobs, because you’d get mollywhopped by some mobs if you weren’t at least decent at your job in FFXI. That shit’s too slow for the WoW generation/era gamers, though. The Everquest generation/era (FFXI falls into this) was too stronk
And that exploit is fucked up. If servers weren’t going down in 10 mins, I’d legit use it though, to get this cross class grinding out of the way
Tiny Tortoise is in the salt strand southwest of Moraby Drydocks. I believe you have to be level 50, and the bait is northern krill. It’s a relatively common catch (I get maybe 5 an hour), and on my server I’ve been selling for 5-8k per.
As for where I fish normally, there is a pool of water in the Sahagin area in Western La Noscea that is labeled Sapsa Spawning Ground in your fishing guide. With decent bait you catch whitelip oyster, blacklip oyster, and red coral (as well as fullmoon sardines at night and sea devil, which doesn’t sell for anything). I use northern krill, but I WANT to use krill cage feeders because that’s the sweet range to catch just the oysters and coral (and not the worthless devil). Problem is the krill feeders are a bait but are priced as if they are a lure (like 400ish gil) so I can’t use them until they fix it.
Anyways, whitelip oysters are relatively cheap and I sell for 150-200 per but they’ve been slowing down a lot. Red coral is really popular because it’s used to make a couple accessories and bracelets and I sell those for 500 per, 700 or 800 per HQ. Blacklips I haven’t sold many yet, but I’ve sold a couple HQ ones for 1500 per and trying to position normal ones at 1000, but I don’t think people are high enough level to use them. They make level 40-50 +int +crit jewelry.
So yeah, I make maybe 25k an hour fishing this stuff, assuming it sells and nobody else is there undercutting you. I’m lucky at this point since there are other fishers, but nobody seems to really be selling much. Also, a 1 minute jog away to the coastline on the way to this spot has hammerhead sharks, which have a really good catch rate if you use iron jigs. Those also sell for 300-400 per.

Then I see someone say “wtf, is that falaria, the awful warrior from emerald dream” referring to WoW. I look and see it’s none other than one of my old warrior guild mates from wow. Blew my mind. Now I’m wondering if anyone else is on the server. Might jump from the srk guild and see who’s in his guild.
