Are the servers that are closed to new characters locked indefinitely, or could I make a character during off peak hours? My old 14.0 character is on Gungnir which is a JP legacy server now, and I’d rather start elsewhere.
Managed to play for a few good hours yesterday by mashing X on the login screen for 5 min. Apparently, you can get in even if it says the world is full. Everything runs perfectly (duty finder, all instanced events) if you actually manage to get in.
My general question to the folks that’s been playing this game since beta:
(1) Did Squeenix learned their lesson from FFXI? i.e is customer service still sh@tty? Are dungeons instanced now? 3-day-pop-chance time window was just straight up crazy.
(2) can I login with the same credential for both pc/ps3 version?
I enjoyed FFXI but god damn they have the worse customer service; you need to serenade these customer service rep to get any service if I remember correctly.

Yeah. I made the honest mistake of logging off and now I can’t relog… Ah well. At least I did it at an inn so I can get dem rest points. Maybe I’ll get let off early for work again… And not be able to play til 1:30am.
Well, I guess it’s not as big an issue for PC people, but for PS3 peeps, why would you risk overheating your triple and getting a yellow light? Not worth it, imo.
I have a 2nd gen phat triple, and I’ve kept it well maintained. It’s been running great for 4+ years now. I’m trying to make that shit last until the 2nd gen PS4s come out.
