Does this game have a “New Game Plus” feature or anything like that? I want to finish the story, but I don’t want to miss out on anything now that I’ve reached Chapter Eleven.

Nope, but right before the end of the game there’s a warp point that allows you to simply warp back to Gran Pulse to do any of the optional missions or farm for CP, gil, and upgrades. Saving the game after beating it and loading it takes you back to this warp point.

not exactly new game plus, but there is only a VERY small part of the game ch.11 onward that you can’t go back and enjoy when he made it, That’s the only section that you can’t go back to ^^.

Oh shit, seriously? That’s fucking excellent. This game just got a much, much longer estimated time of play from me.

17 hours in and just hitting chapter 7 haha

I am enjoying the story as it progresses and i keep saying every save point I will turn off the system and for the past 3 days I say that starting around 10pm and finish at 4 am haha

Well, I got my first Trap last night. I was so excited that I just got up and ran around the apartment yelling, “Yes!” just like Bison. Now I’m having a hard time deciding what to do with it. Part of me wants to turn it into 3 Traps since I don’t know when I’ll get another, but I don’t have the gil required to upgrade Fang’s weapons.

Congrats on ur first trap, but it is best to upgrade Fang’s Gae Bolg for the 3 traps. For a good Gil farming spot, just fight in Edenhall where you can get Perfumes from the enemies. You only need around 1 mil Gil to upgrade Gae Bolg fully, and in 2-3 hours you can make maybe 50+ Perfumes. So be patient and you’ll get the funds eventually.

So I took on the Titan Trial Neochu. I’d heard from you guys that it was a bitch to kill, and I’m not especially maxed out on my characters, so I thought ‘Time to use death’. I was ready for lots of pain and fustration… then killed it on the first hit!

I laughed, then realised that the REAL neochu was another one.

Dammit.

Ok, maybe I’m just doing something wrong, but Hecatoncheir is being such a pain in the ass. He seems to attack forever, and even though he is supposed to react to MED and SAB attacks, the meter seems to fill at such a slow rate, and switching to a RAV/COM after debuffs/in-between attacks seems like a bad idea most of the time since once this guy starts attacking, he won’t stop for a good minute. I end up switching between MED/SEN and SAB/SEN the whole fight but I always run out of time.

Help?

I had no trouble with this guy…don’t remember what I did really, but the meter was filling at a pretty rapid pace. If you need to heal, switch to MED/SAB or MED/RAV to keep his meter increasing.

Anyone know waht the probability is to nullify damage on a 20 sided die? Is it the same as the charms? And lastly, do they stack?

For this fight start out as Sab/Sen and just keep casting until the Sen is at about half or less hp then switch to Med/Sen after this switch to Rav/Sen to get his bar the rest of the way. The key is to always have a Sen out so that he/she keeps challenge on him at all times. This will allow the Sab or Rav to build his meter without any problems of being interrupted.

I personally would just start upgrading something you will use, odds are you’re going to get more traps while you’re farming platinum ingots to level the weapon anyway.

So I finally maxed out all crystariums. After finding out about the Daze trick vs Shaolongs, I’ve done nothing but farm them for the remaining CP needed. I got lucky and got 5/6 drops. Three pingots and two matters.

Also, after maxing I went back to try out Hope’s Last Resort -> Commando switch. Sadly, it did the same damage as when I posted/did it earlier. It may be due to the fact that he has 1100 STR. I’m too broke at the moment to try it with a maxed Malphas and Simurgh. But if anyone does have those two maxed, and have a maxed crystarium, please feel free to test it.

Final verdict (for now): He’s hopeless, pun intended.

daze trick? please share…

My whole team is on the 10th level of the last crystarium. I’m still farming for ingots and traps. I wish I didn’t have to work today, lol. Though I will spend Easter beating up turtles and maybe taking a break from that to do more of the Titan trials.

fail Daze method

Spoiler

Not really sure if you can call it a trick, it just makes the fight 100x easier.

  1. Start the Shaolong fight with [syn / syn / syn] and self haste then quickly shift to [sen / sen / sen].

  2. After the Quake/Ultima, switch to [sab / med / med] to heal and with whoever your leader is, spam Imperil and Slow until lands, then Daze (you can opt to just Imperil/Daze instead of wasting time trying to land Slow).

  3. When all two/three have landed, switch to [syn / syn / syn] and fully buff up. Now here’s where it gets easy. Daze will stun Shaolong long enough for you to fully buff every person on the team and Imperil will allow one of your synergists to cast Enfire on your team.

  4. After you’re all fully buffed and Enfire’d, switch back to [sab / sab / sab] and add the essential debuffs.

  5. Switch to [rav / rav / rav] to build up that stagger bar.

  6. Once you hit 999%, shift to [com / com / com] and proceed to rape.

**Shift to [sen / sen / sen] when necessary, no Daigo’ing necessary, just do it semi-late so you get the as much damage in as possible.

If you’re fairly “leveled” you should be able to kill Shaolong’s within 2-3minutes and in at least two staggers if your team has Genji Gloves equipped. I didn’t notice at first that Lightning and Hope were hitting for 99k, when I did, I just slapped on some Genji Gloves and they were hitting for well over 125k. XD

Team consisted of Fang / Lightning / Pansy Boy. All had base level ultimate weapons (the level they are at when you upgraded using traps). Nothing too fancy for accessories. Just Genji Gloves, Collector’s and Connoisseur’s Catalogs, Sorcerer’s Marks, Power gloves, Growth Egg, the usual shit.

Stats weren’t too extraordinary either IMO, Fang = 2500/1700, Lightning = 2100/1900, Pansy Boy = 1200/2600

Apparently there is also a bug or glitch that has to do with Snow being in saboteur and spamming Daze and if the Daze hits coincide with your leader’s attacks, do ridiculous amounts of damage. Very noticeable with Sazh’s Blitz. Sadly however, I can’t find enough info about it.

I just found this video on YouTube. This is Daze in action vs a Shaolong. The method I mentioned is so obsolete compared to this. LOL. Too bad it doesn’t work on Long Guis.

I’m done being patient, honestly. These bitches rarely drop Perfumes for me, so I might as well run around collecting any of Light’s weapons I missed and from there I’ll decide on which one has the best appearance and stats and upgrade that one. Right now I’m rolling with an Axis Blade but it’s not that powerful…so yeah. lol

Yeah, I’m going to do that. It’ll make my life easier when I’m fighting these turtles.

I took Lightning out of my team and replaced her with Vanille, making my current team Fang/Vanille/Sazh with Fang as the leader. It’s the most effective team I have so far, even though I can’t really say that I’ve done a whole lot. I mean, I’ve only been in Gran Pulse for about seven or eight hours, at the most.

Well the way I go about it in that area is as follows-
hallway with the Juggernaut, go with a team of Com+Rav+Sent. The enemies focus on the Sent preventing them from interrupting your attacks while you pummel them to death.
During these battles each character is equipped with Conn. Code since their rare drops are worth more Gil.

When I’m fighting in the Sacrifice area I exchange Conn. Code for Collector’s Code since I want their common drops. For these battles I mainly go as Com+Rav+Sab.
I’ve managed to get a good number of perfumes by fighting in that area.

I’ll try fighting the blue turtles using that vid’s method, I’ve known about Daze’s effects but never really bothered using it much. I take it one of their drops is a plat. ignot right?

Lol. I just go Rav/Rav/Rav until the enemy has a stagger going and then Com/Com/Com if it’s a single enemy or Com/Com/Rav or Com/Rav/Rav depending on who I’m fighting.

Sadly, no pingots, just Gold Nuggets as normal drops at 25% and Dark Matters at 5%. But if you consider the time and pace of killing Shaolongs for gil, it’s much more “efficient” than killing Long Guis. Not sure about farming Adamantoise/Adamantortoise though. They might be better if you can down them fast enough.

For my Shaolong grind, I just go to where you fight Gigantuar. Kill the three in the immediate area, then run back to the save point and kill the Shaolong in the nearby ledge, then run back to the turtle nesting ground. Rinse and repeat. I can kill each one in roughly 1:45-2:00
