Hey guys. Just had a question about the Rigels Stagger lock property. If I have the random: instant chain synthesized ability, but also have Stagger lock, will my Sazh be able to stagger the opponent?

It fills the whole chain bar instantly but won’t stagger.

With the paradigm shift cancel, has anyone figured out why sometimes all three characters will shift at once and sometimes it cycles through a close up of them all?

the close up only happens on the first shift of each fight.

If you paradigm shift while the lead character is airborne, you can skip the triple close up.

Good lord it takes a lot of money to upgrade omega weapons. I done used like 15 ultracompact reactors with the 200% bonus on Nirvana and I still got 9 levels to go.

You can cancel the close up animation in a couple ways, it was posted in the PS3 thread a while ago.

Shifting paradigms during down time is a quick way to take some ticky tack damage while all your characters jump around and pose one at a time. to cut down of paradigm shifting cutscenes, where your characters are inactive, there are a few things you can do:

1. Paradigm shift just as you are finishing an attack. this will cut out your leaders paradigm shift animation entirely. everyone else not in an attack will perform a single shift animation simulaneously.
2. Paradigm shift while in an airborne state (i.e. melee attacking an airborne enemy or while juggling off of a launch) this cuts out you entire team’s paradigm shift animations
3. Paradigm shift while you’re being stunned by an attack. not too many situations where this is useful, but it cuts out the leader’s shift animation.

switching paradigm like this lends itself to hella strats, since usually when you paradigm shift to another, the ATB Gauge is automatically full for that paradigm, allowing you to attack immediately after completing an attack, giving you the possiblity of 6 uninterrupted attack strings. you can go in, with com, com, rav, switch to set the stagger bar to slow, then switch to an all rav team and get the stagger bar up super fast in one whole clusterfuck of an attack. there seems to be recharge on dormant ATB bars that you’ve used up, so don’t think you can switch back and forth between two and just go complete rushdown, but overall, its a great way to maximize ATB’s and helps out in those tough situations.

With Lightning and Sahz I have canceling down on their last attacks which did cut out the animation (it does the close up for the leader, but they’re busy attacking and not posing so it technically cuts it out). I’m still 50/50 on canceling with Fang’s last attack though. shifting gives you a free ATB, but after the free one you need to actually wait for the next one. Then you can cancel that one and get another free ATB, which is great for juggles.

Also, on an unrelated note maybe I’m just mistaken but I read having more de-buffs on an enemy raises the chance for death to proc (1% per de-buff from what I read) I also figured that since Saboteur’s not only get a bonus to de-buffing but give the party a bonus too, I made an all Saboteur party and I managed to kill an Adamantoise pretty quick, though I need to test it more to see if it was a fluke or not.

I just beat the last boss for chapter 13. That SOB was brutal, at times i felt like giving up and smashing that shit of the blue ray. Went in with Light/Fang/Hope at pretty decent level up and equipment. Most irritating part is when i get him to about 25% hp left and casts a lucky death on my leader which also has 30% death resistant on + veil buff.
I gave up on that team went with Vanille/Fang/Hope, just spammed posion at the beginning and death when staggers and its was ggpo. Heard that Death could instant K.O him but wasnt lucky to pull it off.

Btw… in hindsight I think I would have really enjoyed this playing on the PS3 and a larger screen.

Still, was pretty good on the Xbox 360 and my 22inch monitor. However, I noticed some frame rate issues. Natalius specifically, but even running around Grand Pulse its not as smooth as it could be. Other 360 owners feel the same, and does the PS3 suffer from this too?

I personally have never experienced any frame rate issues w/ this game on the PS3.

Really? Damn. Nautilus was very clearly effected by framerate on the Xbox, and in larger areas of grand pulse when you are running around you can see the running animations aren’t quite as smooth as in smaller areas…

Maybe once FFXIV/XV comes around I’ll have gotten a PS3!

You dismantle a maxed Tetradic Crown/Tetradic Tiara = Hermes’ Sandals/Sprint Shoes respectively.

is there a link somewhere that has pictures of all of the weapons? i upgraded lionheart so fast after i got it that i never saw what ultima weapon looked like. i didn’t see what dragoon lance or the next form looks like either…i upgraded straight to kain’s lance.
any help is appreciated.

So I’m in chapter 13…just want to know, is there a point of no return where saving would be a bad idea? What happens right after I beat the game? If I save after beating the game, and continue from that save, where do I start from?
